It was Edmund.
I picked up. “Edmund.”
“The Graves Pack actually dared to treat you like this? And you still want me to stay out of it?”
His voice was low and cold over the line.
Because of how badly the Graves Pack had treated me, Edmund was furious with them. The moment he’d found me, he’d wanted to move against them.
But I’d said no. I wanted to dissolve the mate bond first, and I didn’t want the Graves Pack knowing who I really was.
All these years, watching Eleanor fawn over Iris had disgusted me. If kindness only came because of the pack behind you, then that kind of kindness wasn’t worth having.
I said, “That bowl of oatmeal today? I fed it to him myself.”
Edmund went quiet for a second. “You fed Julian yourself? You mean—”
said, “Let’s wait until after I dissolve the bond.”

Edmund said, “If we apply pressure from both sides, Julian might actually agree to let you go.”
paused.
A two-front attack to break a mate bond?
That would look pretty bad, wouldn’t it?
But honestly… I was tempted.
Fine. Do what you want.”
Edmund’s voice warmed slightly. “Good. I was worried you still hadn’t let go of him. Hearing you say that, I feel better.”
blinked.
et go?
‘d let go of Julian a long time ago. Six months ago, actually. When he kept staying out all night because of Iris.
faving Edmund say it like that made me not even want to handle this myself anymore.
Do whatever you think is best,”
hung up.
Right after the call ended, George walked in with the nutritionist, Greta. She looked rough-clearly, George had already worked her >ver before bringing her in.
He shoved her down in front of me.

Chapter 112 The Police Are Called
“Start talking. What’s going on?”
Greta was shaking now, her face pale with terror. “Alpha Julian-please-just get to the hospital first-”
Her voice cracked, panic bleeding through every word.
Richard, who’d been eating downstairs, came running at the commotion.
“Alpha.”
Julian’s head was pounding. “Get me to the hospital.”

Things got chaotic fast after that. By the time they rushed Julian in, Eleanor and Iris had already caught wind that he’d been poisoned.
But when they got to the hospital, Lillian wasn’t there.
Their resentment toward her had been building for days. Seeing her absent now, while Julian was being treated, pushed them both past the breaking point.
Eleanor’s voice rang out, sharp and furious. “Where is Lillian?”
Helen flinched. “Luna is… She’s handling the nutritionist. The one who poisoned the food.”
Why would a nutritionist, with no grudge against anyone, poison the Alpha?
She thought about the fire at Harborview Towers. Then Inkwood Gardens burning down. Her composure cracked completely.

“What about him? That Omega nearly killed him! You think I’m just supposed to let that slide?” Eleanor cut her off, voice razor-
sharp.
There was no way she was letting Lillian walk away from this, not after everything. She wanted that woman dead.
Since she couldn’t take matters into her own hands, prison was the next best thing.
“Well? What are you standing around for? Make the call!” Eleanor snapped again when she realized Edith hadn’t moved an inch.
Edith flinched at the harsh tone.
The truth was, she was genuinely scared of Julian. Sure, Lillian had been stirring up chaos nonstop lately, but anyone with eyes could see she meant something to him.
She’d been causing drama left and right, and instead of putting his foot down, he’d been shielding her like she was made of gold.
If they called the authorities on Lillian while he was unconscious in the ER, once Julian came to, they’d be the ones facing the
consequences.
So Edith stood there frozen, not daring to dial.
“Fine, you won’t do it? I’ll do it myself!”
Eleanor was so livid she yanked out her phone and called cops right then and there.
The nerve of that Omega, using poison? After everything the Graves Pack had done for her? After all these years letting her live under their roof, eat their food, benefit from their protection, and this was how she repaid them?
If they didn’t make an example out of her this time, she’d probably think she could get away with murder next time.
