Lillian couldn’t be bothered to argue with him anymore. She pulled free and stood up from his lap.

This time, he let her go.

For the rest of the afternoon, Lillian avoided him. Since she kept disappearing on him, Julian got so irritated that he moved his entire office operation to Laurel Manor.

All afternoon, Graves Group executives filtered in and out of the manor. Judging by the commotion, something big was going down at the company–even from downstairs, Lillian could hear Julian tearing into people.
