Helen and the other servants who’d witnessed the scene went completely rigid, instinctively turning their backs.
Julian straightened up, glaring at me through gritted teeth. “You… Omega.”
I stared back coldly, “What? You’re worried about Iris, so you have to drag me into worrying with you? Julian, you disgust me.”
Julian’s eyes locked on mine. “Disgust you?”
I let out a scoff, “Don’t you?”
The entire Graves Pack was using Iris and her pup now–hiding behind this so–called responsibility–to drive Julian and me apart.
And all of it…
Julian had to know what was happening.
Yet time after time, he kept inserting himself into these situations.
Now it had escalated to him forcing me to come along. If that wasn’t disgusting, what was?
Julian’s voice went ice cold. “Disgusting or not, you’re coming with me.”
Third–Person POV:
Julian didn’t bother explaining anything else to Lillian.
Disgusting?
She’d driven him insane. All he wanted was to keep her chained to his side every second, take her everywhere he went.
Julian grabbed Lillian’s wrist and pulled her out the door.
Lillian fought him. “You maniac, let me go.”
She hadn’t wanted to go last time either, and Julian had dragged her out just like this.
Because she’d disappeared on him again, he was watching her even more closely now,

She tried again with Iris, softer this time. “Iris, Mom just wants you to get better. She-”
All I want is my mate. Is that so wrong?”
Hilda had nothing to say.
Iris voice climbed higher, cracking at the edges. I want my pup to live, and I want my mate here with me. How is that wrong?”
Hilda scrambled to calm her down. “It’s not, okay? You’re not wrong. Just–just take a breath.”
She knew about Iris‘ depression. She always tried to just go along with whatever Iris needed.
But right when she thought Iris was starting to settle, Eleanor opened her mouth again.
Her voice came out flat. “You’re not wrong. The problem is that Ethan is already-”
“Mom, what are you doing?”
Hilda cut her off before she could finish.
Hadn’t Eleanor herself said they couldn’t push Iris‘ buttons? That depression could spiral if you triggered it? That they should just let her say what she needed to say?
Those were her rules. Her instructions.
So what was this? What was she doing right now?
The same woman who drilled all that into them was now the one poking the bear the hardest.
Iris was crying now, the sobs shaking through her. “Hilda, please. Call Ethan. Tell him to come home.
“Both of us need him. Me and the pup.”
Eleanor had flipped like a switch.
But Hilda–Hilda had always been close to Iris. She couldn’t stand seeing her like this, so broken and desperate.
She reached for her phone to call Julian right then.
Eleanor snatched it out of her hand. “What are you calling him for? Can’t you see how wrapped around Lillian’s finger he is?

She glared at Julian. “You might as well just put me in the ground, you brat.”

Hilda jumped in from the side. “Yeah, Julian. Mom needed emergency treatment last time because she got so upset with her. How could you still bring her here?”
The second the words left her mouth, Julian cut her with a sharp, warning look.
Hilda wanted to keep going but swallowed her words.
Damn Lillian. She was back with Julian again.
What was her game? Bouncing between Finn and Julian? Showing off?
Her seduction skills?
Like she was so special.
Able to lure any Alpha–if she was that good, why not go charm someone from the Western Continent’s royal court? That would really prove something, wouldn’t it?
Christopher pulled Julian aside to discuss the pup’s condition. Julian had only given one order before: save him.
But the pup was too young.
Every treatment option came with risks.
For a pup this small, every procedure meant more suffering.
Hilda lowered her voice, going after Lillian. “How’d you end up back with Julian? Was all that talk about breaking the bond just for show? Couldn’t give up the easy life the Graves Pack gives you?
“And what’s going on with you and Finn? You doing this to get back at me?”
If the fight with Julian over the bond was fake, then what about leading Finn on? Was that revenge against her?
Knowing full well she and Finn were in marriage talks, Lillian kept getting in the middle.
Hearing Hilda’s interrogation, Lillian let out a mocking laugh. “After everything you’ve done -now that the whole city knows–forget Finn, what Alpha would dare tie himself to you and bring that kind of chaos into his pack? Do I even need revenge on you?”
By now, everyone in Gilneas City knew that everything Julian had given Lillian had been stolen by her mother–in–law and sister–in–law.

Forget Alphas–even Lunas didn’t want their sons bound to someone like Hilda.
Did she really think the Livingston Pack wanted her?
Hearing that, Hilda’s breath caught. “You… Lillian, don’t push it.”
The humiliation at Livingston Group’s entrance at noon was still fresh, and now Lillian was piling on.
Lillian’s voice stayed flat. “Instead of worrying about whether I’m involved with Finn, you should worry about whether you and Finn even have a shot.”
Hilda shook with rage. “You…
The words were pure provocation, and Hilda felt like she might pass out.
