Chapter 218 Four Hundred Million
Chapter 213 Four Hundred Million
Third–Person POV
The truth was. Eleanor’s attempt to save face today came with its own price tag.
To put it bluntly, Iris had a price in Eleanor’s mind–and that price had its limits.

Eleanor’s bottom line was clear, she wouldn’t go beyond two hundred million for that blue diamond.
Just as Julian was about to raise the bid again, Eleanor grabbed his arm. “That’s enough.”
By now, she could see it plainly–Lillian was determined to win this today.
Fine, let her have the blue diamond. There would be other pieces to bid on later.
This auction was a major event, after all, with plenty of rare items still to come.
The auctioneer spoke rapidly, “Four hundred million–going once. Four hundred million- going twice. Four hundred million–sold!”
She rushed through the calls; the bidding had already far exceeded expectations, and the tension between the two Alphas in the room was palpable.
If this blue diamond didn’t sell right then, she half–expected the place to erupt.
At four hundred million, the blue diamond went to Lillian.
Finn leaned closer. “Tired?”
Lillian gave a slight nod. Her health hadn’t been strong to begin with, and she’d only come tonight to ensure Edmund didn’t get his hands on something meant to win over his girlfriend.
Now that it was secured, she had no reason to stay any longer.
Seeing her weariness, Finn stood and offered his hand. “Let’s head out, then.”
Lillian instinctively tensed, about to pull away, but every eye in the auction hall was fixed on them–on her and Finn.
She shot him a wary glance but allowed him to guide her out of the room.
The moment they stepped through the doors, the atmosphere inside visibly lightened.

But not long after, Julian emerged as well, following their path.

Just as Lillian and Finn reached the elevator, Julian’s voice cut through the hallway, gritted and low. “Lillian!”
Rage simmered beneath the single word, sharp enough to feel like a threat.
Lillian turned to meet his gaze.
Once outside the auction hall, Finn had released her hand.
Julian strode forward, seizing her wrist as if to pull her aside. “You’re coming with me.”
But the instant his skin touched hers, a wave of revulsion swept through Lillian.
As Julian tried to turn her toward him, she drove the heel of her shoe hard into his ankle.
“Ugh-“A pained grunt escaped him, evidence of just how forcefully she’d struck.
The sharp sting made his grip falter, and he released her.
Lillian calmly smoothed her sleeve.
She threw a dismissive look at Julian, now bent over in discomfort, then turned and stepped into the elevator beside Finn.
Just as the doors began to close, Julian shoved his arm between them–only to receive a brutal kick to the stomach, this time from Finn.
“Ugh-!” Another groan, deeper and rougher than the last.
The blow to his abdomen was far worse than the one to his ankle; it felt like the air had been crushed from his lungs.
Gritting his teeth, Julian snarled, “Finn!”
But the only reply was the cold, final slide of the elevator doors shutting. This time, he lacked the strength to stop them.
Thomas received Julian’s call and hurried over.
He found his Alpha leaning against the wall beside the elevator, face pale and strained.
“Alpha? What happened?”

Julian waved a hand, wincing. “Post a few watchers near the auction entrance. But first–get me to the hospital.”
His head spun, and a sick nausea churned in his gut.
That kick from Finn might have done real damage. Damn Lillian…
She’d sounded so calm on the phone, telling him she didn’t want to sever the bond.
Yet less than a day later, here she was–striking him herself.
Fine, if she wanted to kick him, so be it.
But to have Finn do it too?
When he’d tried to stop the elevator, everything happened too fast to see clearly.
But looking back, he had the sinking feeling they’d both landed that blow to his stomach at the same time.
Thomas gave a quick nod. “Understood. But what exactly—”
He wanted to press for details, but Julian’s cold, warning look cut him short.
Swallowing his questions, Thomas simply replied, “I’ll take you to the hospital right away.”
And with that, they left.
Back inside the auction hall, Eleanor was growing agitated.
Ever since Finn and Julian had departed, the bidding had turned fierce.
The moment the pink diamond came up, prices soared higher and higher.
Several bidders she didn’t recognize seemed intent on targeting her.
No matter what she offered, they outbid her by exactly one dollar.
Just one dollar.
It was a clear, deliberate provocation, and Eleanor saw right through it.
But who was behind it… Finn? Or Lillian?
That wretched Lillian. Even on her way out of the Graves Pack, she couldn’t leave things alone.

And Finn–what was his angle?

Even if Lillian broke the bond with Julian, she was still just a former bonded Omega. Was she really worth all this trouble?
“Mom, they’re doing this on purpose,” Hilda muttered through clenched teeth.
She saw it too.
She’d had her eye on that pink diamond for weeks and was determined to win it.
What was going on?
Who had the nerve to mess with her like this…?
Was it Finn? Or that damned Lillian?
Once she officially became Finn’s intended mate, Hilda vowed to make her pay.
Beside Hilda, Iris sat in tense silence.
She’d witnessed the clash between Julian and Finn earlier and knew it revolved around Lillian.
That Omega…
Even with the bond broken, she still refused to fade away quietly.

“Enough.” Eleanor snapped, her voice tight with frustration.
She already had enough on her plate without this.

Never in a million years would she have expected Lillian to show up at an auction like this.
In Eleanor’s mind, someone like Lillian didn’t belong in these circles–couldn’t even afford the
entry.
And yet, not only had she shown up, she’d made it her mission to cause trouble at every turn.
Eleanor tried calling Julian again… and again.
No answer.
That only stoked her anger.
What was wrong with him lately? Was he really still hung up on that Omega?
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Julian was being checked over.
Those two kicks had been no joke–aimed to hurt, maybe even kill, thrown with everything his attacker had.
A young nurse hung his IV, her cheeks flushing slightly at the sight of his sharp, aristocratic features.
But one cold, dangerous glare from Julian drained the color from her face.
She finished securing the tourniquet in silence, gathered her tray, and hurried out.
Thomas‘ phone buzzed. He read the message, expression turning serious.
“Alpha, Alpha Finn has taken Miss Moore to The Oceanview.”
The Oceanview was the newest upscale hotspot in Gilneas City–not the kind of place you visited casually.

With its floor–to–ceiling windows overlooking the ocean and highly private dining suites, it was popular among wealthy couples looking for an intimate setting.
Finn taking Lillian there… alone.
Julian’s scent turned icy.
“So they’re dating now?”
Damn her. The bond wasn’t even broken yet. How could she-
For a moment, he imagined wrapping his hands around her throat.
Thomas stayed silent, sensing the room grow dangerously cold.
Julian snatched his phone and dialed Lillian’s number.
At The Oceanview, Finn and Lillian sat beside a vast window, the evening sea spreading like dark silk below them.
“The food here has been excellent since they opened. I hope you like it,” Finn said, voice softer than usual.
Beneath his calm gaze lingered something gentle, almost tender–a protectiveness he rarely showed.
He regretted what had happened to her…
If he had known, back then, that she would end up bonded to Julian, maybe things could have been different.
Then again, maybe it was fate, or her mother’s will.
Lately, she’d turned the entire Graves Pack upside down. If she kept going, there’d be no peace left for anyone.
“Thank you,” Lillian replied quietly. “I’m feeling a little better now.”
Truth was, the meals prepared by the chefs at Starfall Mountain suited her far better. Edmund made sure of that, sending over all kinds of delicacies.
Compared to her time with Julian–when everyone’s attention had been glued to Iris, that viper who’d harm anyone without blinking–this was a different world.

Lillian watched his hands, then his lowered lashes, and something stirred in her memory.
Without thinking, she asked, “Before I was bonded to Julian… had we met before?”
Finn stilled, his knife pausing mid–air.
He looked up, and in that moment, Lillian’s sense of familiarity grew stronger.
Just as she thought he might say something–something meaningful–his lips curved into a faint, restrained smile.
“Don’t overthink things. Right now, just focus on breaking the bond with Julian.”
He continued, tone measured. “He’s looking into whether Iris‘ depression was real… and what really caused the pup’s death.”
Lillian’s heart sank.
Looking into it. What a joke.
Whatever he found, he’d just twist it to keep believing Iris anyway.
When she didn’t respond, Finn went on. “You realize what this means, don’t you?
“After everything that had happened, he still doesn’t truly want to break the bond. If he uncovers the truth…”
He left the sentence hanging, but Lillian understood perfectly.
“Whether he learns the truth or not,” Finn added, shifting slightly, “you and he aren’t right for each other. Not anymore.”
“I know,” Lillian said, her voice steady, “But don’t worry. Soon enough, he’ll be the one begging to break the bond with me.”
Begging
Finn studied her face–the resolve in her eyes, the calm certainty.
He understood then what she intended to do once she fully entered Graves Pack society.
In the days to come, every one of them would live in unease, wrapped in a quiet, growing dread.

Back at the auction house, Eleanor stepped out looking as if she’d tasted something sour. Beside her, Hilda wore a grimace like she’d been chewing on grass for a month.
Mrs. Clarke caught up to them, voice slick with false concern.
“Eleanor, you came here tonight to bid for Iris. What in the world is going on with your son’s mate? It’s like she’s determined to undermine you at every turn.”
