Chapter 217 Dested Rebunals
Chapter 217 Twisted Rebuttals
Thind–Person NOW
Paul, sitting in the passenger seat, watched in set his phone down and let out a heavy sigh If you’d found Miss Moore onlier, she wouldn’t have gone through so much in the Graves
At the words “gone through so much in the Graves Pack Finn’s thin lips pressed into a tight, bloodless line, his expression turning even colder.
Earlier…
He should have.
“Maybe it was her mother’s will”
Paul stayed silent for a beat.
Great. Now Finn was saying it too.
As far as Finn was concerned, he wouldn’t have minded watching Lillian tear that bastard Julian to pieces.
Not just Julian–the whole Graves Pack along with him.
Julian had called Lillian over and over.
Thomas had called her just as many times.
She’d seen the calls light up her screen back at The Oceanview, but she hadn’t picked up–not with Finn right there.
Now, back at Starfall Mountain, she finally returned Julian’s call.
Yeah, she called him back.
If this had been during one of their carlier fights, that never would’ve happened.
The phone hadn’t even finished its first ring when Julian answered.
Before Lillian could utter a word, his voice came through, gritted and tense. “Done with Finn?”

“Yes,” Lillian replied.
That single word was like a lit fuse, setting off Julian’s rage instantly on the other end.
“Lillian, we’re still bonded. So what was that just now–a date with him?”

He stressed the word date, biting it out as though he wanted to reach through the phone and shake her.
“Pretty much,” Lillian said.
Things between her and Julian were already broken. Then Finn had broken with him, too.
Whatever bondmate affection or brotherly loyalty there might’ve once been–by now, it had all been shattered to dust.
So what was a little more wreckage?
When Julian heard “pretty much“, his anger shot straight to the top of his head.
Was she actually admitting it?
She claimed she didn’t want to break the bond, yet here she was, seeing Finn? And both of them had cut him off?
They hadn’t even formally severed the bond, and already they were out together in public.
Julian’s head spun worse than back when it was just Lillian causing trouble.
“You two are disgusting,” he snapped, his temper boiling over.
Hearing him raging through the speaker, Lillian didn’t get mad. Instead, she let out a soft, derisive laugh right into the phone.
The sound of her laughing made Julian feel like his whole world had been flipped upside
down.
“You’re laughing? Lillian, I never knew you could be so-
“Before we bonded, I never knew you could play both sides so well either,” Lillian cut him off,
her tone cool.
“For six months, I told you Iris had feelings for you. You said I was overthinking it—that she was your brother’s mate.

“I also told Iris the two of you needed some distance. She said you were family–why would you need space?
“Since you both love messy situations so much, why not bring more people into it? Let everyone join the chaos. Join the flirting.”
He wanted messy relationships?
Fine–let her make them messier.
Lillian’s voice remained eerily calm. “Isn’t this better now? You have your brother’s mate. Finn and I are just friends. What’s there for you to be upset about?”
The way she said upset was dripping with sarcasm.
“You think every kind of closeness is fine and normal. So what’s wrong with me and Finn?”
On the other end of the line, Julian felt like he was about to have a stroke from sheer fury.
Faced with this completely unfamiliar version of Lillian–gentle in tone yet ruthless in words -the phrase “break the bond” almost flew from his lips.
“You just admitted you were on a date with Finn,” Julian ground out between clenched teeth, his breathing growing ragged.
Lillian didn’t miss a beat. “What’s wrong
with that?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Julian repeated, voice rising. “Lillian, you—”
“I don’t see a problem with it.”
Julian fell silent, his head pounding as if ready to split open.
What did she mean, no problem? It was a huge problem.
His breath came unevenly. “Are you blind, or just choosing not to see? Can’t you tell what’s going on with Finn?
“You’re a mated female, and he’s protecting you like that. You really don’t see anything wrong
with that?”
Lillian’s reply was flat. “You won’t protect me. So no one else can, either?”
The line went quiet, the silence thick and heavy.

Julian felt like Lillian was systematically dismantling every pillar of his understanding.
What he didn’t realize was that their positions had now been completely reversed.
Every word Lillian was throwing at him, he had said to her before.
Every single one.
“Anything else?” Lillian prompted, her voice devoid of warmth.
Anything else?
How could anything even be explained now?
No matter what he said, Lillian had some twisted rebuttal ready. Julian was at a loss for words.
“If not,” she said, “I’m hanging up.”
These days when Julian called, the line might connect, but that didn’t mean she’d answer.
“Where are you?” he demanded, fighting to keep his tone steady. “Why aren’t you back at Graves Estate?”
“I’ll come back when it’s time,” Lillian replied smoothly.
And when that time came, the entire Graves Pack–Julian included–would wish she’d never set foot there again.
With a faint, icy smile, Lillian ended the call.
