Lillian didn’t even look up from her book as she said coolly, “I want the biggest room. Why should I care who’s staying there now?”
Hilda let out a sharp, mocking laugh. “You really think you own this place, don’t you?”
At that, Lillian finally lifted her gaze. Her eyes held a piercing, dominant pressure–like an Alpha female surveying her pack. A faint, derisive smile touched her lips. “You’re actually right. I’m still Julian’s partner. Our partnership hasn’t been dissolved.”
The phrase “hasn’t been dissolved” cut through Eleanor like a blade.
“If I’m guessing correctly,” Lillian went on, her tone almost conversational, “that termination agreement you’re drafting is meant to send me away empty–handed, isn’t it?” She tilted her head slightly. “Bet you’re kicking yourself now for not just offering me five billion to walk away.”
Seeing how casually Lillian brushed off the whole situation made Eleanor’s blood boil. She really did regret not having a clean, five–billion–dollar buyout ready from the start.
Julian would never sign something that stripped Lillian of everything. And now, because of that, Lillian had the right to return to the pack estate and stir up trouble.
“So five billion is what you want? Fine. I agree,” Eleanor snapped, teeth clenched. “Now get out of my house.”
There was no way she was letting Lillian stay under the pack’s roof a moment longer.
Hearing Eleanor reluctantly agree, Lillian gave a low, sarcastic chuckle. “What, can’t stand having me here for even an hour?” She paused, letting the words hang. “If you think this is hard, how are you going to survive the next few days?”
Then her expression shifted, cool and unyielding. “Sorry, but five billion isn’t enough to make me leave anymore.”
Back when Lillian had first asked for that amount, Eleanor had been outraged and refused. Now, no sum of money would simply make her disappear.
Eleanor felt lightheaded. “Then how much do you want?”
After what she’d witnessed today, Eleanor was prepared to agree to almost anything–just to

But this time, Lillian only offered a faint, knowing smile and didn’t answer. Instead, she turned to the nutritionist beside her. “I’d like some meat in my broth this morning.”
“Of course,” the nutritionist replied with a respectful nod before heading toward the kitchen.
As soon as the two nutritionists entered, the pack’s regular kitchen staff were promptly ushered out.
Watching it all unfold, Eleanor felt another wave of dizziness.
A short while later, the two Draenei attendants who had gone upstairs returned carrying armfuls of personal items. They paused at the top of the staircase. “Where should we put all of this?”
Their language was flawless, without a trace of an accent.
Hilda’s eyes widened as she recognized her own belongings in one attendant’s arms. The other was holding items from Catherine’s room–since Catherine wasn’t present, they’d simply cleared out the two largest suites for Lillian.
Hilda shot to her feet, furious. “Who said you could touch my things? Put everything back right now!”
Eleanor looked just about ready to collapse. This was utter madness. Complete chaos.
Hilda stormed up the stairs, shouting, “You shameless wenches! Put it all back this instant!”
One of the attendants replied flatly, “No place to store it? Then we’ll leave it in the living room.”
Before anyone could react, both attendants tossed the belongings down the staircase.
A loud crash echoed as everything hit the floor, scattering in all directions. The once–orderly living room was now a wreck.
Hilda had reached her limit. Seeing these outsiders treat her home and her things this way made her snap. “Lillian, you vile creature! Get out of here, and take your people with you!”
She already despised Lillian for getting so close to Finn. Now, after this invasion, she held nothing back–cursing openly and viciously.
But the moment the insult left her lips, George–standing behind Lillian–gave a subtle nod to one of the attendants.

The attendant understood. She moved calmly up the stairs and slapped Hilda hard across the face.
A sharp, crisp crack rang out, silencing Hilda at once.
