meant what I said to Lillian. In my view, aside from being an Omega from an orphanage with no apparent lineage, she was exceptional in every other regard. The Graves Pack, and Julian especially these past six months, had crossed every line. They had accepted her into the fold but offered her none of the respect that was her due. Within the Graves Pack, Lillian had only had Julian, and over the last half–year, Julian had systematically eroded the last remnants of her hope and attachment.
Lillian glanced at me. “Don’t concern yourself. I know my own limits. If I’ve chosen to stop enduring it, it means I possess both the confidence and the capability to manage the consequences.”
Hearing that, I let out a short, admiring laugh. “True. You’ve always known how to bend without breaking.” Especially in front of he Graves Pack elite–when argument was futile, she would retreat into silence and endure. Reflecting on it now, once this woman decided her season of endurance was over, she undoubtedly had a comprehensive strategy in place.
‘Hearing you say that tells me you don’t need me watching your back anymore. That’s a relief.” My tone held genuine reassurance, edged with a touch of nostalgia.
We spoke a while longer. After satisfying myself that Lillian was truly holding her own, I reminded her to take my number off her
locklist, then took my leave.
Third–Person POV:
With no pressing issues at the gallery, Lillian returned directly to Creekwood Manor.
Upon her arrival, an attendant presented a small bowl of steaming, aromatic broth. Lillian took a sip–it was deeply flavorful. ‘What is this?”
‘Ms. Moore, it’s a herbal venison broth, prepared to aid in restoring your physical strength and psychic energy,” the attendant answered respectfully.
Lillian enjoyed the broth in peaceful comfort. As for Iris? For the coming week at least, she likely would find little pleasure in any neal.
Just as Lillian anticipated, at that very moment, everyone in the Graves Pack–from Julian down to Eleanor–was nearing the brink of their composure.
Especially Julian.
Following the media firestorm that had engulfed Iris all morning…
Thomas was forced to deliver an unfavorable report. “Alpha, at present… the narratives concerning Mrs. Iris Graves cannot be fully suppressed.”
Julian’s face darkened instantly. His hawk like gaze, sharp and laden with potent Alpha pressure, fixed on Thomas “Explain.”
His low voice vibrated with danger. Could not be suppressed? In Gilneas City, was there anything beyond the Graves Pack’s reach?
Understanding the implicit question, Thomas explained with difficulty, “We have successfully applied pressure to the major local platforms and media channels within Gilneas. However, the accounts are persistently disseminating and igniting new topics…. Their points of origin are overseas, employing robust anonymity and anti–tracking protocols. Our attempts to contact or pressure them have been… dismissed outright.”

Thomas‘ tone was grave. He had navigated countless crises alongside Julian, but this was the first time he had encountered an adversary who so blatantly disregarded the Graves Pack’s authority and utilized such slippery, formidable tactics. To put it plainly, “This time, the Luna is utterly serious, and she arrived fully prepared.”
“By exposing the certification of your mating bond, the individual left most exposed and vilified is Iris. Her aim is precise.”
Julian’s hand, holding a cigarette, stilled. The light in his eyes grew incrementally colder, eventually settling into something deep and inscrutable.
“Her location remains unknown?” he asked, his voice devoid of inflection.
Mentioning Lillian’s whereabouts, Thomas shook his head, his expression turning grimmer. “Negative.” He quickly added, “She has not returned to the apartment on Galaxy Road, and there has been no further visit to Ms. Bennett’s home.”
Julian’s POV:
That apartment on Galaxy Road… she had purchased it in the second month after Ethan’s death. Had she been planning her exit even then?
If that were the case, delivering the bond dissolution papers now… did it signify her resolve was absolute?
My expression darkened further. I picked up my phone and dialed Victor.
He answered promptly, some ambient noise in the background. “Julian?”
“Where is she?” I demanded, bypassing any preamble.
Earlier, having exhausted my own avenues, I had tasked Victor with attempting to make contact.
Victor seemed to sigh on the other end. “Julian, have you forgotten a key detail? I’m perceived as being in your corner. She doesn’t trust me in the slightest right now, and she isn’t taking my calls.”
“Spare me the commentary. Answer the question.” My patience was clearly fraying. The only pertinent information was Lillian’s physical location.
