Chapter 27 The Draenei Connection
Julian’s POV:
I was waiting for her to accept the connection request, or at the very least, to leave some message of rejection.
But there was nothing.
Absolutely nothing–just the system’s impersonal notification. “The user has declined your request.”

That sensation of being completely ignored, of being locked out, made the anger and the gnawing, undefined anxiety in my chest
burn even hotter.
“Have you identified which hotel she’s using?” I demanded through gritted teeth.
Even with her accounts frozen, it would still take until tomorrow at the earliest to force her hand, to make her surface or return. But right now, I didn’t want to wait another minute. I needed to find her–immediately.
Thomas, who had just received an update, shook his head, his expression grim. “We’ve canvassed every hotel in Gilneas City… There is no record of Lillian.”
She wasn’t at the residence on Galaxy Road.
She hadn’t registered at any hotel.
She wasn’t at Chloe’s.
So where the hell was she? And who was she with?
Thomas hesitated before speaking again. “Alpha, there is… one piece of intelligence.”
His tone made my gut tighten. I fixed him with a cold stare. “Out with it.”
Thomas stiffened and continued swiftly. “This morning, Lillian was formally discharged from the hospital… A Draenei male handled the paperwork and escorted her from the premises.”
“What?”
had assumed she was with Chloe. Since when was a Draenei involved?
Seeing my confusion, Thomas elaborated. “Ms. Bennett was present at the time as well.”
“A male?” My frown deepened.
Thomas nodded.
The atmosphere in the room seemed to congeal and turn frigid the moment he confirmed it.
“Is this individual connected to Chloe? Or… to her?” I heard my own voice grow taut.
Thomas replied, “That connection remains unclear. However, after the discharge, Ms. Bennett returned directly to her own residence, while Lillian… effectively vanished.”

Therefore, logic suggested the Draenei was linked to Lillian.

My breathing grew ragged despite my efforts to control it. My Alpha instincts–the territorial possessiveness, the primal sense of violation–roared to life. “A Draenei…” I repeated the word slowly, each syllable heavy with suspicion and a sliver of jealousy I refused to name.
We had been together for years, from my initial pursuit to our formal bonding. I never knew she was acquainted with any Draenei.
Was it someone she’d met in the last six months?
Or perhaps…
Suddenly, Finn’s impassive face and his cutting words from last night, “I support your decision to sever the bond“, flashed through my mind. Finn’s pack operations spanned the entire continent, and his personnel did include individuals of various races from across the landmasses.
Was it possible he had sent someone to retrieve Lillian?
Considering the last six months, I had poured nearly all my energy and focus into the main estate, into managing Ethan’s affairs and caring for Iris. If Lillian had been in contact with Finn during that time… it wasn’t impossible.
My breathing grew more uneven, suspicion and fury coiling together in my chest. “I want the location where that Draenei took her, and I want it now! And also…”
By now, my expression had darkened to a degree that would make most wolves flinch.
“On second thought. Just find out!”
Thomas nodded. “Understood, Alpha.” He hurried from the office.
Alone, I lasted only a few seconds in the heavy silence before my composure broke. I dialed Finn’s number directly.
Finn answered on the second ring.
The man’s low voice came through, devoid of any particular inflection. “Yes?”
A single word, yet it carried a distinct, chilling detachment.
Hearing that tone directed at me now made my anger ignite instantly. Before, I had simply thought him cold by nature. Now, it felt unmistakably like hostility aimed squarely at me….
“Are you at your office? I’m coming to see you,” I stated, my tone brooking no argument.
There was a brief pause on Finn’s end before he responded. “You have the time to pay me a visit now?”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Have the time? His tone was laced with unmistakable sarcasm.
Since when did Finn speak to anyone like this?
What for? Because of Lillian?
My grip on the phone turned bone–white.
Finn’s voice remained level, but each word was crisply enunciated. “Your precious sister–in–law requires your emotional support
