Chapter 44 Dragged to His Territory

ThirdPerson POV:

Furious, Lillian swung her bag at Julian again. This time, though, he was fast enough to catch it midair.

You’ve made a habit of hitting people now?

She’d really gotten comfortable with it.

Where the hell did she pick up a habit like that? She never used to be this waymust have learned it from Chloe.

After the runin with Finn, Julian’s irritation had hit a whole new level. Without another word, he dragged Lillian toward his car and drove straight to one of the Graves Pack’s corporate offices.

Every werewolf in the building took one look at Julian’s dark expression and immediately felt uneasy.

When they noticed Lillian was with him, they couldn’t help exchanging glances.

Juliah and Lillian’s mating had been kept quiet, and she’d never once set foot in any pack company before.

For the past six months, the entire Graves Pack had just assumed Julian would eventually formally mark Iris.

Now, with Julian showing up holding Lillian’s hand

Someone whispered, Is that the one who posted the bonding document yesterday? So that online stuff wasn’t fake after all?

Yesterday’s rumors had spread like wildfire. Everyone in the office had been convinced someone was trying to scam their Alpha.

They’d all been curious how that would play out.

Another person murmured back, Definitely not a scamdidn’t you see Alpha Julian holding her hand?

But what about him and Iris, then?

Shh. Keep your voice down.

Thomas arrived,

The whispering stopped immediately.

Thomas looked exhausted. Dealing with the media fallout had given him a pounding headache. When he walked into Julian’s office and saw Lillian standing there too, he froze for half a second.

He quickly recovered and stepped forward respectfully. Alpha. Luna.

Lillian shoved Julian away and turned toward the door, but Julian caught her arm and pulled her back against him.

You’re staying here with me today.

His tone was as gentle as he could make it, but there was no mistaking the command underneath.

Lillian looked up and slapped him across the face. Hard.

Thomas immediately wished he’d never walked through that door. He started backing out, but Julian’s low voice stopped him.

Did you get the lawyers working on what I told you yesterday?

Thomas paused. He knew Julian was asking about the things Eleanor and the others had taken from Lillian.

He shook his head nervously. NNot yet. I’ve been-

Julian’s expression darkened. And when exactly were you planning to get to it?

II’ve been dealing with the Iris situation since yesterday. The media, the-

The more Thomas talked, the quieter his voice got.

Because the look Julian was giving him was dangerous. Venomous. The kind of look that made grown wolves want to disappear.

Thomas corrected himself quickly. The list is already compiled. I’ll have the lawyers handle it immediately.

He hesitated, like he wanted to say something else. But with Lillian right there, he thought better of it and hurried out of the office.

Lillian struggled against Julian’s grip. Let go of me now, or I swear I won’t hold back.

Julian pulled her over to the sofa and pushed her down onto it.

You’re waiting here today.

His voice left no room for argument.

Lillian twisted away, shaking his hand off her shoulder.

The way she wouldn’t let him touch her at all

Julian’s temple throbbed where she’d headbutted him earlier. The pain spiked, sharp and insistent.

He turned, walked around his desk, and dropped into his chair. He lit a cigarette and took a few irritated drags.

The lawyers will get everything back to you today. It’s time you dialed that temper of yours back a few notches.

Just thinking about Lillian’s attitude gave him a headache.

She used to be so soft. So obedient.

Who knew she could cause this much trouble when she decided to make a scene? She’d practically torn a hole in the sky

Lillian shot him a cold look. Throwing tantrums is more Irisstyle.

She, on the other hand, always meant business.

Hearing her icy tone, Julian pressed a hand to his aching temple.

Lillian continued, And don’t bother with the whole getting my things backspeech.

The moment one of them threatens to jump off a bridge or do something equally dramatic, you’ll be right there telling me I’m being petty for not just letting them keep what they stole.
