Chapter 46 The Abortion Photos Surface
Chapter 46 The Abortion Photos Surface
Third–Person POV:
That phrase “just plain ungrateful“-was one Eleanor had thrown around plenty of times in the past.
She’d always aimed it at Lillian.

Telling her that as an Omega who grew up in an orphanage, she should be grateful for even the smallest scrap of attention Julian bothered to give her.
Now, hearing Julian turn those same words back on Iris, Eleanor was too furious to speak.
On the phone, she kept forcing herself to hold back. “She’s sick, Julian. Clinically depressed. What do you mean, ‘ungrateful‘?
“You think she actually wants to see you? She wants to see Ethan’s face–and you just happen to be his identical twin, so congratulations, you’re a walking reminder.
‘Enough of this. She hasn’t eaten anything since yesterday. Just come to the hospital, make sure she gets some food in her, and then you can go back to whatever the hell you’re doing.”
Eleanor had no energy left to deal with Julian’s current attitude toward Lillian.
Right now, all she wanted was to take care of Iris.
But…
Even something as simple as that seemed impossible now.
Julian’s voice was flat. “Don’t tell me what to do. If she doesn’t want to eat, let her starve. She’ll eat when she’s hungry enough.”
Hearing the harshness in his tone, even Lillian glanced over at him.
Eleanor sputtered. “You-”
‘Don’t bring Ethan into this. I’ve done more than enough for Ethan already.“”
Julian stared out the floor–to–ceiling window at the traffic crawling below, his voice ice–cold and suffocating.
Eleanor went quiet.
While she was still on the phone with Julian, Iris suddenly let out a scream, hurled her phone across the room, and dissolved into frantic sobs.
Eleanor jumped at the outburst.
She rushed over to try to calm her down.
The hospital room descended into chaos. That was when Eleanor finally realized the scandal had escalated.
Yesterday, it was Julian and Lillian’s mate certificate and separation agreement.
Last night, Iris had climbed to the hospital rooftop, playing the victim and managing to shift public sympathy just slightly.

But now….
Photos of Lillian’s abortion procedure had been leaked.
Eleanor screamed into the phone, “Julian, you ask Lillian what the hell she thinks she’s doing! Does she really want to drive Iris to kill herself?
“Then you tell her–if anything happens to Iris, she won’t live to see another day either!”
Eleanor was completely hysterical.
Julian turned and looked at Lillian, still sitting on the couch, still trapped in his office.
Even with some distance between them, the office was quiet enough that Lillian could hear every word Eleanor shouted through the phone.
When her eyes met Julian’s, she smiled faintly and shrugged.
Julian’s lips pressed into a thin line.
Eleanor’s voice cracked. “You–you need to get here now. Iris, she–she’s… Iris, no, don’t-”
Before she could finish whatever she was saying to Julian, something must have happened with Iris on the other end. Eleanor’s voice shifted from fury to pure terror.
Then the line went dead.
Julian pulled up a news app on his phone. The more he scrolled, the darker his expression became.
Finally, he snapped. His arm swung out, and his phone slammed hard against the carpet.
He’d thrown it in Lillian’s direction. It didn’t hit her directly, but after bouncing off the carpet, it struck her knee.
The impact pushed her skirt up just past her knee.
The moment the phone landed, the air in the office turned arctic.
Julian strode over and dropped onto the couch across from Lillian, staring at her with cold, hard eyes.
He didn’t speak, but his expression said everything. He was furious. Truly furious this time.
Since he wanted to sit there in silence, Lillian was happy to oblige. She looked down at the red mark blooming on her knee, stood up, and kicked his phone across the room into the corner. The screen shattered into a spiderweb of cracks.
The office thickened with tension radiating from both of them.
Julian’s anger ratcheted up another notch.
Lillian sat back down, her gaze sharp and cold as she watched him.
This was who she was now.
However Julian chose to vent his temper, she gave it right back.

Seeing her like this, Julian couldn’t hold back any longer. “What were you trying to accomplish by leaking fake photos of an
abortion?”
The word “fake” made the coldness in Lillian’s eyes sharpen into something cutting.
Julian kept going. “One thing after another. You want her to carry the label of ‘the other woman‘ for the rest of her life, don’t you?”
Yesterday’s scandal–the mate certificate and separation agreement–had barely started to settle, and now photos from a few days ago were out.
She knew exactly how to orchestrate public opinion. Each step pressed Iris further into a corner.
At this point, there was no way to turn things around.
Even if they somehow managed to suppress the scandal, Iris would be branded a homewrecker forever.
Lillian watched him. Said nothing.
Julian’s voice was rough. “Lillian, you never used to push people this hard.
“So what changed? Did Chloe teach you this? Or do you just feel bold now that you’ve got Finn backing you?”
Lillian finally spoke, “So you did know all along. I didn’t push back before because I had no backing. No backing from you. Right?”
A woman–especially one without support–learns to swallow her pride and endure.
But that same woman, once she finds someone in her corner, will strike back aiming straight for the throat.
And right now, she had her teeth sunk deep into each of theirs.
This time, Julian was the one who fell silent.
