Lillian’s POV:

I stared at him. “You know what? That’s actually hilarious.

“I’m supposed to be your mate. Your Luna. But the confidence you project? You give that to Iris.

“You let her take the authority you hand her and use it to walk all over me. Again and again.”

For the past six months, Iris‘ malice toward me had grown more blatant by the day. And yeah, part of it was her Alpha mother backing her, the whole Graves Pack treating her like she was untouchable.

But the real reason? The root cause? That was Julian.

Julian crossed his arms, his entire posture radiating Alpha dominance. “How could she possibly walk all over you? Will you stop overthinking everything?”

I just stared at him.

Even if he was done coddling her, he still wouldn’t believe she’d actually done anything to me.

In his mind, Iris was still kind. Just sick. That was all.

He caught my dark expression, and his breath hitched. I could see him fighting to keep his temper in check.

His voice came out strained, like he was trying really hard to be patient. “Iris has been busy running some of the pack’s subsidiary companies. She-”

“So let me get this straight. I’ve just been unreasonable this whole time. Blaming her for no reason. Is that it?”

“All those rumors about you taking over as her dead mate’s replacement, stepping in to claim his pregnant girlfriend? I shouldn’t have released proof of our actual mating bond. That was just me being vain–I couldn’t stand the thought of people calling

“The surgery photos? Totally fake. I made them up because I want to nail her to the wall as the other woman for the rest of her miserable life.”

“Lillian.” His voice was a warning.

I kept going. “And all those things you gave me over the years? The jewelry, the bags, everything they took? I gave those to them willingly. Wanted to suck up. They never stole anything. That about cover it?”

“I said stop talking.” His temples were throbbing now. I could see it.

I didn’t stop. “I did it all. I’m the one who started everything. You happy now?”

I held his gaze, my voice getting calmer with every word.

Julian just stared at me.

I said, “Fine. I admit it. I’m that shameless. So let’s dissolve the mating bond and be done with it.”

The moment Lillian brought up dissolving the bond again, every ounce of anger Julian had been holding down surged right back

“Are you serious about this?” His voice was low, dangerous.

“Every word I’ve ever said to you has been serious. Why would this be any different?”

Julian’s breathing turned heavy.

“So what you’re telling me is, as long as I don’t agree to break the bond, you’ll just keep coming after her?” He paused, his eyes narrowing. “What else do you have?”

His voice was pure threat now.

Lillian caught the shift immediately. The corner of her mouth curled up.

She understood perfectly. Him asking what else she had? That was his way of trying to buy her off.

Just like that day when she’d mentioned suing Iris, and he’d wanted to throw money at the problem to make it disappear

Now it was the same thing. He was willing to spend whatever it took to make this go away for Iris Even if it meant paying off his

own mate.

“But that doesn’t mean the thing between Iris and me ends just because you and I are done”

Julian’s voice sharpened. “Lillian!”

He was about to lay into her when his phone rang again. Eleanor.
