Chapter 55 The Hospital Showdown
Chapter 55 The Hospital Showdown
Third–Person POV:
Helen walked downstairs and found Julian in the living room.
When he saw her, Julian frowned. “She asleep?”
Helen nodded. “Yes. Lillian said she was going to sleep.”
Julian let out a low, humorless laugh. “Of course she can sleep now.”

From yesterday until now, the chaos she’d stirred up had only gotten worse. Who else besides her could possibly sleep at a time like this?
Eleanor had called, telling him to get to the hospital now.
Julian knew it was probably because Margaret had found something out.
But he played dumb anyway. “With you and her own mother both there, isn’t that enough for Iris?”
Eleanor snapped, “What does Iris have to do with this? Lillian’s the one who caused this mess. You–bring her to the hospital. Now.”
First, she’d told him to come alone.
Now it was bring Lillian too. Which meant Margaret had uncovered the truth and was already losing her mind.
Julian’s voice stayed flat. “Lillian’s asleep.”
Then he hung up.
He didn’t care if Eleanor’s blood pressure spiked. After the last six months, his patience was shot.
At this point, he’d snap back at anyone–elders, authority figures, even if the Moon Goddess herself showed up.
Lillian was drifting in and out of sleep when she felt arms wrap around her from behind. Instinct took over–she kicked out hard.
“Tch…” Julian grunted, pain flashing through his voice.
The sound jolted Lillian awake.
She reached for the bedside lamp, ready to shove him out, but before she could, he caught her hand and pushed it back under the
covers.
At the hospital, when Margaret learned what had really happened, she nearly lost it.
Especially after Marcus called again and told her Harborview Towers had burned down to nothing but a shell.
Everything inside was gone.
Her jewelry. Stacks of cash. All of it.
Margaret trembled with fury. She shot Eleanor a look so cold it could freeze blood. “Eleanor, your pack had better give me an

explanation for this.
“My daughter carried your pack’s twin pups, and you let Lillian run wild like this?”
“And now she’s burned down my place at Harborview Towers–plus two villas. Who’s covering my losses?”
Eleanor’s temples throbbed with anger.
Lillian… She was completely out of control. How dare she pull something like this?
Eleanor took a breath and said, “Margaret, don’t worry. Our pack will handle it.”
Margaret let out a cold snort. “I must have been blind, letting my daughter marry into your pack.”

Never mind that over the years, thanks to Iris‘ marriage, Margaret had reaped plenty of benefits from Julian’s family. Right now, she held nothing back.
Eleanor’s face darkened. “I already said I’d handle it.”
That was just how Eleanor was.
When she was in the wrong, she could swallow her pride and apologize.
But Margaret’s comment about being “blind” carried an edge–like she was looking down on the Graves Pack. And that got under
Eleanor’s skin.
All the advantages Margaret had gained over the years had come from her connection to this pack. It had boosted her status like
crazy.
Now that she’d climbed up, she thought she could look down on them?
Hearing the chill in Eleanor’s voice, Margaret’s expression tightened. “Then tell me, Eleanor–how exactly are you going to handle
it?”
“Handle it.”
But that brat Julian–who in the Graves Pack could actually control him?
Ethan had been dead for six months now. If they didn’t find a way to get rid of that eyesore Lillian soon…
What, was Eleanor actually planning to let Lillian become the future lady of the Graves Pack one day?
Before Eleanor could answer, Margaret pressed on, her voice icy. “Either way, Iris cannot stay in the same pack as Lillian any longer.”
Bottom line—from now on, the Graves Pack could have Lillian, or they could have Iris. Not both.
Eleanor’s expression turned even darker. “What exactly are you saying, Margaret?”
“Once Iris is released, I’m taking her and the pups back with me for now. We can talk again after you’ve dealt with that troublemaker Lillian.”
The word troublemaker landed like a slap.

Hearing that, Iris went pale. “Mom, I don’t-”
“Shut up.”
Margaret cut her off before she could finish.
Iris didn’t want to leave. She wanted to go back to Graves Pack territory. At least there, she could still see Julian sometimes.
Margaret shot her a look that could kill, and Iris fell silent immediately.
Eleanor had started this conversation feeling guilty–like she bore real responsibility for what had happened.
But faced with Margaret’s barely concealed disrespect, her tolerance evaporated.
She walked out of the hospital room without another word, her expression frozen, Hilda trailing behind her.
Inside the room, Iris turned to Margaret. “Mom, what are you doing? I need to stay in Graves Pack territory. I have to keep Julian close.”
Iris‘ meaning was clear–only by staying inside Graves Pack could she keep driving a wedge between Julian and Lillian.
Especially now.
After everything that had happened–after something this huge–Julian seemed even more determined to protect Lillian. That terrified her.
“And anyway,” Iris added, “Harborview Towers is completely destroyed. Where are you planning to take me and the pups?”
Margaret’s POV:
Just hearing Harborview Towers mentioned made my blood boil all over again.
Right now, I didn’t just want to teach Lillian a lesson. I wanted her dead.
Lillian… she was something else.
I’d barely sent people to trash her apartment, and she turned around and handed me a gift this big.
I’d really underestimated that Omega.
forced my rage down and said, “Don’t worry. Don’t underestimate Eleanor. Push her hard enough, and that Lillian won’t have an easy time.”
That attitude I’d given Eleanor earlier? It wasn’t an accident.
