Eleanor had always been proud. After the way I humiliated her tonight, she’d take it out on Lillian’s head next. No question.

I wanted Lillian to have zero peace.

Not just from Eleanor–from me too. I wasn’t about to let that little bitch off easy.

Iris, knowing her mother had plans within plans, asked, “Why would Finn have someone near Lillian?”

They’d just found out there was a Draenei hovering around Lillian lately.

And since Lillian had been getting close to Finn during all this, they’d put it together–that Draenei must be his.

Finn was someone they couldn’t afford to cross.

Iris worried her mother, blind with rage, might go too far and piss him off.

Margaret let out a cold laugh. “Who cares why? The point is, Finn would never be interested in a female like Lillian. She’s already mated. Carrying another male’s pup.”

A sharp glint flickered in her eyes. “As for why he’s helping her? Probably…”

She trailed off for a second.

Then her voice turned even more mocking. “Men. All that talk about friendship. But when there’s something in it for them, they love putting up smokescreens.”

Margaret’s theory was simple–Finn must have his eye on some deal Julian was working on.

Getting close to Lillian now was just a convenient way to distract him.

Iris‘ expression flickered. “You… you really think so?”

From what she’d seen, Finn didn’t seem like the type to play games like that.

He and Julian had always been close. Years of friendship. It didn’t add up.

“Relax. I’ve seen plenty of Alphas in my time.” Margaret’s smirk was sharp. In her world, Finn helping Lillian couldn’t possibly be because he actually liked her. “Just wait for Eleanor to come through.”

She’d given Eleanor absolutely no face tonight.

Eleanor, humiliated and furious, would find a way to push Lillian out of the Graves Pack now if it killed her

Eleanor snapped back without missing a beat.

Then her voice turned venomous. “I really underestimated that little Omega bitch. She actually managed to torch Harborview Towers. Is there anything she can’t do?”

She was livid.

By the time she stormed into Inkwood Gardens and stepped out of the car, her whole demeanor screamed murder.

Lillian had been trying to kick Julian off the bed, but the bastard just held on tighter, shameless.

After everything that happened today, he still wanted to sleep wrapped around her.

Furious, she’d kicked him more than once.

“Get out.”

Julian’s voice came rough. “Stop fighting. Just sleep.”

There was irritation in his tone, but he made no move to let her go.

At this point, Julian seemed like he’d hit his limit with all the chaos.

Like he’d just accepted that Lillian was going to act out, and his only move was to keep her close so she couldn’t cause more

trouble tomorrow.

Lillian struggled, but the strength difference between male and female was too much. She couldn’t break free.

And after everything–the miscarriage, the stress–she just didn’t have the strength.
