Chapter 86 Hilda’s Claim
Third–Person POV:
On the other end of the line, Hilda completely lost it.
She was going to marry Finn. That was a done deal in her mind.

She’d already arranged for someone to approach the Livingston Pack about the match, and the last thing she needed was Lillian hanging around him.
Lillian’s voice came through cool and amused. “Look at her, acting like she’s got some claim. It’s almost sad.”
Hilda’s voice crackled with fury. “Do you want Inkwood Gardens back or not?”
She couldn’t stand Lillian’s sarcastic tone these days.
The old Lillian was easier to deal with… she just didn’t understand what had gotten into her.
Lillian answered, slow and deliberate. “You can choose not to give it back. But you won’t be able to live there either.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You’ll figure it out.”
And with that, Lillian hung up.
Hilda stared at her phone, so angry she nearly hurled it across the room.
“That bitch. Who does she think she is?” Hilda’s voice shook with rage.
Across the estate, Eleanor had just gotten off a call with Catherine at the wellness retreat.
She was fuming too. Catherine had laid into her, and Eleanor was still smarting from it.
“This whole mess is falling apart. That Omega has turned the entire Graves Pack upside down,” Eleanor spat.
What was happening? Everything was unraveling because of Lillian.
Hilda looked up. “Is she seriously going after Grandmother’s share too? Julian said he’d make up for what Grandmother lost!”

Julian had said that
Both Hilda and Eleanor had heard it with their own ears.
Eleanor shook her head. “Who knows what Lillian’s on about now? Now she wants Grandmother to return everything.”
Catherine was the pack’s elder. The disrespect was staggering.
Julian’s lost his mind, letting some Omega twist him around like this.”

Hilda’s voice hardened. “Break the mate bond. We have to make them break it. We can’t have someone like her in this Pack.”
“You think I don’t want them to break it?”
The word “break” made Eleanor’s stomach turn.
Everyone in Gilneas City was talking about Julian and Lillian ending things now.
Lillian herself had made sure of that–she’d spread the word about “breaking the mate bond” everywhere.
And now, not only were they still mated, but Lillian was demanding Grandmother return everything too?
What kind of game was she playing…

Across town, things weren’t any better for Margaret and Iris.
After her plunge into the water that morning, Iris had spiked a high fever.
And now Thomas had forced her to sign those agreements handing everything back to Lillian.
She was livid.
Rebecca, the pack servant tending to her, spooned fever medicine into her mouth gently. “Iris, you have to stop crying. It’s not good for you.”
“Where’s Eleanor? Why isn’t she here?”
Fresh from childbirth, this was when she needed people around her most. If Julian wouldn’t come, couldn’t Eleanor at least show up?

Rebecca sighed at the question. Lillian’s made such a mess of things, it’s reached Catherine now Eleanor just got chewed out.”
Eleanor’s position in the pack had never been easy.
Catherine ran things with an iron grip. As long as she was alive, Eleanor would never truly be the one in charge.
Hearing Lillian’s name again made Iris‘ anger spike. “She wants Grandmother to return everything too? Is she insane?”
Rebecca shook her head. “She’s gone too far this time.”
For years, everyone in the pack had always taken Iris‘ side.
Now, hearing about Lillian’s behavior, they all agreed–Lillian was out of line.
Especially with this whole returning things business.
Demanding things back from everyone else was one thing, but going after Catherine too?
That was just reckless.

Over at Margaret’s room, she was stuck on liquids now, and every tiny shift in her bed sent pain screaming through her back.
Watching her struggle just to eat made Marcus‘ worry deepen.
The Western Continent situation was still waiting for her personal attention.
Margaret finally asked, “Any word from Finn?”
Marcus hesitated.
Just the mention of Finn made his face go tight.
He hadn’t wanted to bring it up, but since Margaret asked, he had no choice. “Alpha Finn won’t take calls. Paul said he’s busy.”
Busy. That meant Finn was refusing to see her.
Margaret’s fury went cold, radiating off her in waves. “So what now? We just let him keep backing that worthless Omega?”
