Daniel had his own worries. “I’ll think about it,” he said.

The two of them just made it official not long ago. Moving too fast might scare her away.
“I’ll go make breakfast for Aella. You guys talk,” Daniel said as he stood up and walked into the kitchen.
Lilian and Sophia followed right after him, worried that Daniel’s cooking skills might not be good enough. Those two hurried in to help.
At the same time, at the Winter Estate.
The family was having their meal. Ralph urged, “Tyrone, you’re not getting any younger. You should start planning your marriage.”
Tyrone set down his spoon. “Dad, marriage isn’t a business deal. Just because I plan it doesn’t mean it will work.”
Edwin gave in a little. “If you don’t like Ms. Guinevere and still want to marry Aella, we won’t stop you.”
Ralph agreed. “Your grandpa is right. If you still want that girl, we can pick a new date and prepare another wedding.”
The Winters were already the most powerful family in Vleka.
As their only heir, Tyrone didn’t have to marry for alliances if he didn’t want to.
After what happened with Zera, the father and son had both come to understand something.
A good wife mattered more than status. Character came first.
The Reids had once been a strong family. Aella had received the best education since childhood. Her parents were open–minded and polite.
At the very least, her character was beyond doubt.
Virginia spoke gently, “Son, go talk to Aella properly. If she agrees, treat her well after marriage. Don’t be cold and distant anymore. That hurts your relationship.”
She persuaded, “Aella loves caramel milkshakes. It’s still early before work. Take one to her and talk things through.”

Tyrone put down his spoon and stood up.
But everything was already too late.
If he had listened to his mother in his past life, things might not have ended like this.
He knew clearly that he should not disturb Aella anymore.
Yet, he still went.
The night before, he had lost control several times and wanted to see her.
In the end, he forced himself to stop.
But the urge never went away.

Before eight in the morning, Tyrone arrived at Westside Hospital with breakfast for Aella.
Her coworkers told him she was in the second–floor clinic.
He went upstairs. As he passed the window of a break room, his steps froze.
Aella had her back to the window, and only part of her figure was visible, but he recognized her at once.
She was eating breakfast. Daniel was standing beside her, holding a hair tie and gently tying her hair.
His voice was soft as he coaxed her to finish eating. He said the breakfast was made by him.
Aella called him Dan. She complained in a playful, spoiled tone that he had pulled her hair.
Daniel apologized again and again, slowing his movements. After tying her hair, he bent down. and kissed her cheek.
Aella shyly pushed him and reminded him to be careful. Her coworkers might see. Daniel obediently sat back down, staring at her with a foolish smile. He promised he would listen to his girlfriend from now on.
Tyrone gripped the cup in his hand tightly and turned away in disgrace.
Daniel made breakfast for her himself. He tied her hair with such care. Those were things Tyrone had never done for Aella.

She had stayed by his side for two lifetimes. For so many years, she had lived around him, given up her dreams for him, and cooked for him.
Aella only tested him once. She asked if he could make her a cake with his own hands.
His answer had been cold and flat. “Everyone has their own specialty.”
He didn’t deserve to appear in front of her again.
He didn’t deserve her forgiveness.
He didn’t even deserve to hear her call his name.
Tyrone didn’t know how he left the hospital.
After getting into his car, he sat there for a long time, unable to calm down.
He called Noel and canceled all his plans for the day.
After that day, Tyrone never contacted Aella again.
They lived in the same city, each with their own life.
At gatherings or dinners, if Tyrone was there, Aella wasn’t. If Aella went, Tyrone didn’t.
Without saying a word, they avoided each other perfectly.
Three months later.
Seven o’clock that evening, in Bluehaven.
Tyrone told Noel to prepare for an international video meeting in 15 minutes.
He stepped onto the balcony to take a call.
It was from the estate. His family was still urging him to get married.
He brushed it off and hung up.
A little over ten minutes later, in the study.
Tyrone sat at his desk and joined the remote meeting.
Halfway through, his private phone on the desk lit up. A WhatsApp message from Brad.

The chair behind Tyrone scraped loudly. His arm knocked over the coffee cup on the desk.
The liquid spilled across the table and onto the floor, soaking his expensive suit.
