Clyde shook his head stubbornly. “I don’t want to know him, and I won’t like him.”

Tyrone said calmly, “Clyde, Aella has loved you since you were little. Since she chose Mr. Hill, you have to respect her choice. Try to get along with him. Even if you can’t accept him yet, you can’t argue with Aella or talk back to your parents in front of everyone.”
Clyde hesitated. “Tyrone, but I still-”
“Clyde!”
His voice
grew
firm.
“Mr. Hill is a powerful man, and he’s willing to lower himself to please you and your parents. That shows how much he cares about Aella. You’re the younger brother and the backbone of this family. You need to think about other people’s feelings. This must not happen again.”
Clyde nodded. “Tyrone, I’ll listen to you.”
Outside the car, Noel stood holding some drinks.
Tyrone said, “A real man knows when to bend. Take the drinks home and apologize to them. Say you went out to buy them. Be polite.”
Clyde got out, took the drinks from Noel, and then paused.
He asked carefully, “If my sister marries someone else, are you still our family?”
Tyrone’s eyes turned red.
He answered softly, “As long as you still think of me as your brother, I’ll always be your family.”
Clyde wasn’t fully convinced. “But…”
Since Aella started seeing that doctor, Tyrone had never come to their house for a meal again.
Tyrone reached his hand out of the car window. “Pinky promise.”
Seeing Clyde smile, Tyrone’s eyes burned even redder.
He would protect them from a distance. He would watch them be happy, from far away.
When Clyde disappeared from sight, Tyrone said to Noel, “Go to the airport.”

Noel quickly told the driver to leave.
The helicopter was already preparing to take off, but Tyrone had delayed boarding.
Everyone thought something serious had happened.
No one expected he had come all this way just to talk sense into a kid.
Ten minutes later, Clyde returned home with the drinks.
Warren snapped, “You little brat! You still know your way home?”
Aella and Daniel exchanged a look. Aella stopped Daniel from stepping forward.
Clyde placed the drinks on the table, a bit unwilling. “I–I went out to buy drinks.”
Aella noticed the ice pack clutched in his hand.
She knew her brother well.

After storming out in anger, there was no way he would calmly buy drinks and an ice pack for his face.
Aella pushed the door open and looked outside. No one was there.
Daniel asked, “What’s wrong?”
Aella shook her head and went back inside with him.
Clyde sniffed, then suddenly bowed. “I’m sorry. We had guests. I shouldn’t have lost my temper.”
Everyone was stunned by his gesture.
Clyde looked at Daniel. “I’m sorry. I treated you badly. I apologize.”
Before Daniel could speak, Clyde went back to his room.
The four of them stood there, speechless.
After Daniel left, Aella knocked and entered her brother’s room.
Clyde was on the balcony, fiddling with a pile of strange parts Tyrone had given him, things that looked like computer boards.

Aella asked, “Who did you go see this afternoon?”
Clyde answered honestly, “Tyrone.”
Aella lowered her eyes.
She had known it.
No one else could ever talk sense into her brother.
“What did you talk about?” she asked.

Clyde set the parts down. “Tyrone said if I care about you, I should also respect the people you care about. He said I shouldn’t make you angry.”
“And?” Aella asked.
“He said that doctor is really impressive. He told me to learn more about him for your sake. He said I should respect you. He also said I’m the backbone of the family.”
Aella left her brother’s room quietly.
She hadn’t expected Tyrone to speak well of Daniel.
Aella hadn’t expected him to say things like that.
When she passed her parents‘ room, she almost knocked to talk to them.
But she heard them talking about Tyrone instead.
There was regret in their voices. Praise. Approval.
Aella went back to her room in silence. Compared to her past life, Tyrone had changed a lot with her family.
It was natural that her parents liked him even more now.
But no matter how much they admired Tyrone, it wouldn’t shake her choice.
Men are like books.
You can read them again and again. You may gain new thoughts, but the ending never changes.
The Hills chose a private island for Aella and Daniel’s engagement.

Every rose on the island was flown in from overseas estates. Top chefs were hired at great cost.
Even a single guest gift was worth over a million dollars.
Aella’s dress and jewelry were personally prepared by Lilian and Sophia.
