Zera reached through the open car window and grabbed the steering wheel, stopping Tyrone from driving away.

A flicker of impatience crossed Tyrone’s face.

Zera cried as she spoke, her voice shaking.

“Tyrone, I saved your life back then. I gathered all my courage and chased after you for a full year. I’m your lifesaver. You said that because I saved you, you would give me one chance. We will give it a try for a year. How can you take that back just like that?”

Tyrone spoke again, his tone firm. “Please call me Mr. Winter.”

Faced with his cold resolve, Zera panicked.

She refused to give up. “Mr. Winter, are people from rich families always this heartless? Can you really go back on your word even to the person who saved your life?”

Tyrone answered without hesitation. “If you weren’t my lifesaver, you wouldn’t even have the right to stand in front of me.”

The words hit Zera hard. She stumbled back a few steps.

Tyrone started the car. “You have one last chance to call my number.”

Zera stood there and watched the car drive away, her teeth grinding in anger.

To get close to Tyrone, she had been hurt and beaten.

To look perfect in front of him, she secretly applied for credit cards and bought clothes and makeup. She never asked him for gifts and never took a single dollar from him.

But if she took the money from Tyrone now, the image she had carefully built–the poor, innocent college girl–would be completely ruined.

Zera stood frozen in place, completely lost.

On Thursday, Aella came home after school.

Warren tried to comfort her. “Don’t be so pessimistic. Tomorrow I’ll speak with the shareholders and see if there’s another solution.”

He reminded her, “Don’t tell Aella about this. She’s preparing for exams. Don’t distract her.”

But her parents hadn’t said a single word to her.

Fear and panic rose in her chest. She quickly changed clothes and ran downstairs.

“Aella, it’s so late. Where are you going?”

Miriam and Warren had just come out of their room and saw her heading out.

Aella made an excuse. “I’m going to see Raine. I’ll stay over and won’t come home tonight.”

Warren told the driver to take her to the Winter Estate and didn’t stop her.

Their daughter had grown up close to the siblings.

The children often slept at each other’s houses.

Especially during summer vacation.

When the girls were together, they became wild.

No one could control them except Tyrone.

When Aella arrived at the estate, she found out that Raine had gone back to her grandparents house.

More importantly, Tyrone wasn’t there either. She should have called.

She felt awkward.

“If that’s the case, Mr. Edwin, Mr. Ralph, I won’t disturb you.”

Edwin stopped her. “Since you’re already here, wait for a while. Just call Raine and Tyrone and ask them to come back.”

Justin immediately understood. “Ms. Reid, just give them a call. They’ll come back right away.”

Virginia and Ralph had been arguing fiercely about divorce. Virginia had taken Raine back to her parents‘ home for nearly two weeks. Ralph had tried two or three times to bring her back, but she refused to come back to the estate.
