Chapter 573 Rather Never Have Been Born

Anna clutched George’s leg and vehemently denied it. “Back then, I was forced by that spoiled second–generation Hill bastard. When I gave birth to Zera–he never gave me a single cent, not even his name!”

Anna said, “George, think about it- the Hills is one of Vleka’s top–tier aristocratic families. If I had really known my daughter’s biological father was a wealthy heir, how could I possibly have gone all these years without taking her to acknowledge the Hills?”

Seeing that George remained unmoved.

Anna staggered as she struggled to her feet.

“I stayed with you without a title or status. I went through multiple miscarriages just to give you a son, and this is how you think of me? Since my daughter is now a Hill heiress, doted on by Mrs. Natasha, and everything promised by the Hill will include her share–why should I keep humiliating myself by staying with you?”

Anna deliberately took a step back to force his hand. “I’ll move out tomorrow. From now on, we won’t see each other again. And don’t even think about using my daughter or me to help you connect with the Hills!”

As she spoke, Anna turned and went into the bedroom, dragged out a suitcase, and began packing.

Seeing this, George hurried forward to stop her

George hugged Anna and pressed her onto the bed. “Anna, after all these years together, how could I possibly let you go?”

As he spoke, George began undoing her clothes. I was wrong to hit you just now. I’ll stay here tonight and keep you company.”

Anna wasn’t fooled by George’s sweet words.

She shoved him away and got off the bed, urgently asking, “Then, tell me–what exactly happened just now? Who is spreading rumors online and slandering me?”

George straightened his clothes and sat on the edge of the bed.

He opened his phone and handed it to her. “Look at what my assistant sent me–you’ll understand.”

Anna tapped open the phone, and when she saw the screenshots online, she was completely stunned.

“Breaking! Biological mother of Hill Group’s newly returned heiress exposed–allegedly sold her virginity for 10,000 dollars years ago!”

“Shocking revelation! Mother of Hill Group heiress rumored to be Mr. Cunningham’s secret mistress!”

“#EliteFamilyScandal! Hill heiress convicted of intentional assault–sentenced to one year, suspended for two!#”

“Headline: Long–hidden branch of the Hill family resurfaces–inheritance rumored to be reshuffled!”

The more Anna scrolled, the colder her heart became.

How could this be?

She and George had been extremely cautious all these years and had never appeared together in public.

If she didn’t find a way to clarify these reports quickly, she and her daughter would probably never be able to stand their ground in Vleka again.

George reminded Anna, “My wife has already started suspecting us. Lay low for a while- don’t run into her.”

George said, “This dragged the Hill Estate into the mess. They’ll have to step in. Call Zera and figure out what’s going on before you decide anything.”

Anna hurriedly took out her phone and called Zera.

The phone kept ringing, but no one answered.

On the other end of the line, Zera was kneeling in the living room, clutching her constantly vibrating phone, already crying herself apart.

Natasha sat in the middle. Her son and daughter–in–law were on her left. Three grandsons lined up on her right.

The atmosphere in the living room was heavy and tense, with everyone wearing grim expressions.

Lysander pointed at Zera and told Natasha, “Grandma, Zera’s mother slept with Caleb for 10,000 dollars and had a baby. Now, she’s Mr. Cunningham’s mistress for money. The whole world knows it. Do yo know how people are talking about us out there?”

Zera clenched her hands tightly, her nails digging deep into her palms.

Crying with extreme grievance, she said, “Lysander, I know my biological mother is at fault, but what could I have done?”

Zera sobbed. “If I had a choice, I’d rather never have been born at all!”
