Back in the bedroom, he picked up the gray teddy bear Aella had given him and sat beside the pillow. His eyes were red, and his emotions still hadn’t settled.

A few days later, in the morning, Tyrone accidentally knocked over the gift he had prepared for Aella’s first day of school.

“Tyrone, I want you to take me to school on the first day.”

“Okay.”

Thinking of that promise, Tyrone bent down, picked up the small box, and gripped it tightly.

Right before 9:00 a.m., across from the gate of Vleka International Music Academy, a black Bentley slowly pulled over.

The back window slid down a little. Dressed in an elegant dark suit, Tyrone sat inside the car, his gaze easily locking onto Aella’s striking figure at the school entrance.

She wore a simple, understated luxury early–fall outfit. Her long hair was half tied back, making her stand out.

She carried the confidence of a wealthy heiress, mixed with the fresh energy of a college student.

Standing under the autumn sun, she laughed and talked with her parents, drawing attention from people passing by.

Aella checked the time on her phone. “Dad, Mom, you should go. I’ll be fine on my own.”

Warren and Miriam nodded with satisfaction.

Aella glanced around at the busy entrance, then quietly turned and walked inside.

Tyrone had promised to bring her today.

He broke that promise.

She took a deep breath and forced down the pain in her chest.

If he wasn’t coming, so be it. Her parents were going to the Winters‘ later anyway to end the engagement.

Holding her bag strap tightly, eyes red but steps steady, Aella walked through the gate.

Inside the car, Tyrone watched her leave, gripping the small box.

From today on, it would be Aella’s new beginning.

She would meet people her age–people who shared her interests and were better than him.

Tyrone stared at the gate blankly. “Let’s go.”

Noel quickly told the driver to drive off.

Their boss had canceled meetings and waited outside the school for over an hour just to watch his fiancée.

Miriam sighed. “Aella packed several boxes of the gifts Tyrone gave her last night and asked us to return them to the Winters today.”.

He nodded. “If it weren’t for Tyrone back then, our family would’ve gone bankrupt. No matter who suggested ending the engagement, we’ll return everything properly.”

She agreed. “I’ve prepared the wedding gifts and the share transfer papers. This afternoon, we’ll go to the Winters and make it clear.”

At 3:00 p.m., Miriam and Warren went to the Winter Estate on their own.

When Tyrone saw Aella’s parents arrive unexpectedly, he stood up to greet them.

Virginia and Ralph also rose and invited them into the living room.

Warren greeted Edwin politely. “Mr. Edwin, how have you been lately?”

To Edwin, the two families were already connected by marriage.

He was still satisfied with the Reids, so he stayed courteous and told Tyrone to serve tea.

Warren sat down politely and accepted the teacup.

Miriam, however, stayed standing and had the drivers carry several large boxes inside.

Tyrone walked over, his eyes landing on the boxes.

Carefully, he asked, “What are these?”

Miriam answered vaguely, “I’m not sure what’s inside. Aella asked us to bring them. You’ll know when you open them tonight.”

Tyrone’s chest tightened. He lowered his eyes.

He knew Aella too well.

He could already guess what was inside.

And he could guess why her parents were here.

Pain twisted in his chest. He turned away and took a deep breath.

After a long moment, he turned back.

With a calm expression, he instructed Justin, “Move those boxes into my car.”

Earlier at the school gate, Aella had looked fine.

She must have figured things out.
