Chapter 639 Keep the Ring On
When Aella walked into the apartment, she was met with an unusually peaceful scene.

She pressed her lips together, set the violin down, and walked over. “Why don’t I just give this apartment to you two? As long as you can get along well together, that matters more than anything.”
Tyrone came out after washing his hands. “Aren’t you supposed to practice violin at Madam Slater’s tonight? Why are you back so early?”
Aella rolled her eyes at Tyrone and didn’t bother responding.
Tyrone was speechless.
Victor shot Tyrone a provocative look, then asked Aella, “Didn’t you say you’d be back at 7 p.m.?”
Aella explained, “She has something to deal with tonight and can’t make it.”
Victor looked over at Tyrone.
Tyrone lowered his gaze and stayed silent.
At dinner, Tyrone tried several times to serve Aella food but she didn’t take a single bite.
No matter what he said, she ignored him.
Naturally, she didn’t answer any of his questions either.
Tyrone kept holding it in, his expression growing darker by the minute. He barely ate anything throughout the meal.
Aella couldn’t be bothered to look at his face. Once dinner was over, she went straight back to her room.
Tyrone went into the kitchen alone to wash the dishes and tidy up. When he came out, he stopped in front of the TV. “Uncle Victor, should I shower first, or do you want to go first?”
Victor motioned for him to go ahead.
About 20 minutes later, Tyrone finished his shower and changed into his pajamas. His gaze landed on Aella’s tightly shut bedroom
door.
He took something he always carried with him out of his jacket and walked over to knock.
Aella opened the door, saw Tyrone, and her expression darkened immediately as she tried to shut it again.
Luckily, Tyrone reacted fast enough and wedged a foot in first.
He stepped into Aella’s bedroom and turned to close the door behind him.
Aella got onto the bed, put her Bluetooth earbuds in, and started listening to music. She didn’t even spare Tyrone a single glance.
Tyrone sat down at the edge of Aella’s bed and reached out to remove the earbud from her ear.
Aella angrily reached for it, so Tyrone put the earbuds into their charging case instead.

“I need to talk to you,” he said.
Aella shot him a hard glare, then turned her back to him, lay down, and closed her eyes.
Tyrone tugged the blanket on Aella down slightly.
Aella yanked it back up in irritation.
He pulled it down again, and she pulled it back up.
After several rounds, Aella finally lost her temper and kicked out.
Tyrone grabbed her ankle and tucked her foot back under the blanket.
He braced both hands on either side of her, looking down at her from above.
“The wedding party for the head of the Cunningham family is this Saturday,” Tyrone said. “Mom and Dad want us to attend together.”
Aella used his own tactic against him. She kept her eyes closed and acted as if she hadn’t heard anything.
Tyrone reached under the blanket, forced her hand out, and put the engagement ring back on her finger.
The cold touch against her skin made Aella jolt upright.
Seeing the diamond ring back on her hand, she took it off without hesitation.
Tyrone grabbed her wrist to stop her. “I’ve already prepared the gown for you.”
He opened the photos on his phone and showed them to her. “If you don’t like it, I’ll swap it out.”
Aella didn’t even bother to look. She turned her head away.
Whether Tyrone loved her or not, she could live with that.
What she couldn’t stand was him saying he wanted to call off the engagement and deliberately keeping his distance, only to turn around and approach her now as if nothing had happened.
Tyrone pinched her chin and forced her to look at him.
He said, “Aella, until we call off the engagement officially, we are still an engaged couple. The Cunningham wedding will have all the Vleka’s major families there, along with a lot of reporters. If you don’t want people to stir up gossip about the Reids and Winters, then keep the ring on.”
He added, “You can take it off as soon as we get back from the party.”
Sitting on the bed, Aella felt anger rocket through her.
So that was why he was so determined to put the ring back on her. He was worried about people talking.
Aella nodded, agreeing to attend the Cunningham wedding with him, but didn’t say a word.
Tyrone let go of her. “Do you like the gown?”
