Even though Raine was young, she still stepped forward without hesitation to defend her brother. “You don’t get to accuse my brother however you like. If you can’t prove it, the Winters won’t let this slide.”
That sentence shut everyone up.
Tyrone gave Aella and Raine a light pat on the shoulder, then walked over to the Townsends, stopping in front of Matthew.
He lifted his gaze first, calmly sweeping over Jenny and the few people standing behind her, before speaking in an even tone.
Tyrone drew Aella closer, arm around her shoulders, and said to the Townsends, “If Mr. Townsend has evidence that I injured him, feel free to call the police.”
Aella added, “Zach knew perfectly well that I’m already engaged, and he still kept harassing me over and over again. This just saves me the trouble of calling the police myself.”
Tyrone gave Aella’s shoulder another light pat, and the two of them looked at Matthew together.
Seeing this, Matthew hurried to apologize. “I’m sorry, Mr. Winter. This was all a misunderstanding.”
Hazel followed up, “Ms. Reid, please calm down. Once that bastard wakes up, we’ll deal with him properly. We won’t let that scumbag show his face in front of you again.”
Jenny hadn’t expected what seemed like a done deal to be dropped so easily by her father.
She took two steps forward. “Dad, Mr. Winter locked the restroom door and beat Zach until he was seriously injured. So many of us outside heard it and saw it. Why aren’t you holding him responsible?”
Smack!
Hazel turned around and slapped Jenny hard across the face. “This is not your place to speak.”
Jenny covered her cheek and glared at Hazel viciously. “I was doing this for Zach’s sake. What right do you have to hit me?”
Hazel looked at Jenny with open disgust. “The Townsends‘ affairs are not something a bastard daughter like you gets to interfere
in.”
That single sentence completely crushed Jenny’s dignity.
Jenny covered her face and lowered her head in humiliation.
At that moment, two servants wheeled Zera into the crowd.
Zera stepped in to smooth things over for Jenny. “Mr. Townsend, Mrs. Townsend, I was there as well. The restroom door was locked, in the end, Zach and his friend were both seriously injured and unconscious, and only Mr. Winter walked out unharmed. Jenny was only stating the facts.”
Hazel pointed at Zera and snapped, “People stick with their own kind. Even if you’re the Hills heiress, you spend all day hanging around Jenny, that illegitimate daughter. You can’t be anything decent either.”
Zera hadn’t expected that after speaking up for the Townsends, Hazel would turn around and humiliate her instead.

Surrounded by the strange looks from everyone watching, Zera tightened her grip on the armrests of her wheelchair in
embarrassment.
Brad couldn’t help but cut in. “Ms. Hill, being the weaker party doesn’t automatically make you right.”
After saying that, he added a sarcastic curse, “Idiot.”

The fact that Tyrone had calmly told the Townsends to call the police showed that he was confident he could resolve this.
Aella choosing that moment to accuse Zach of harassment only reinforced it.
It was clear that Tyrone had indeed beaten Zach, and Zach had been beaten because he harassed Tyrone’s fiancée.
It was obvious, and there was no way the Townsends couldn’t see it.
They were in the wrong, so they didn’t dare confront the Winters head–on.
So the only option was to downplay the incident and let it go.
Jenny had already been slapped, yet Zera still stepped forward to back her up. It was unbelievably foolish.
Seeing Zera being pushed into an awkward corner, Anna quickly smiled and stepped in.
“Since everyone here is attending the Cunningham wedding party, we’re all friends from the same circle. If this was just a misunderstanding, let’s end it here and enjoy the evening.”
The onlookers gradually dispersed in small groups.
Aella pulled Tyrone aside. “Why did you beat Zach so badly?”
The two of them locked eyes.
Tyrone answered calmly, without changing his expression. “He touched you. He deserved it.”
Aella stared at Tyrone in a daze.
She could feel how much Tyrone cared about her.
She could also feel his possessiveness.
But she still couldn’t understand why he wanted to call off their engagement.
Annoyed, Aella shoved away the hand Tyrone had resting at her waist. “Zach is younger than you, more romantic than you, sweeter with his words, and his family background isn’t much worse than yours. Dating him might not be a bad idea.”
