He looked at Tyrone and said, “You keep saying you want to break off the engagement, but the moment someone even touches her, you’re ready to take their life. What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
Tyrone lowered his gaze, concealing the emotion in his eyes.
George greeted Brad, then turned to Tyrone. “Mr. Winter, there are two executives from Vofgan who would like to meet you. Would that be convenient for you?”
When Tyrone showed no reaction, George continued, “They mentioned a new project worth 100 billion. I believe Mr. Winter would be interested.”
From the corner of his eye, Tyrone glanced toward Zera and Anna not far away.
He said to Brad, “Keep an eye on Aella for me. Don’t let her out of your sight. I’ll be back shortly.”
Brad nodded, and Tyrone left with the head of the Cunningham family.
Aella and Raine tucked themselves into a quiet corner, eating and chatting.
When Brad walked over, Aella pointed to the seat next to Raine and motioned for him to sit. “Brad, try the cherry, it’s really good.”
Brad picked up a cherry and popped it straight into Raine’s mouth.
He asked Aella, “I heard Tyrone has been staying at your place these past few days. Are things between you two any better?”
Hearing Tyrone’s name reminded Aella that there was still someone at her apartment.
Remembering Tyrone’s warning, she didn’t mention Victor had been injured and hiding out there.
Aella sighed. “Tyrone and I aren’t getting better. Not even a little.”
With how stubborn he was, she really wanted to date another man just to shove it in his face.
Brad tried to talk her down. “If Tyrone didn’t care about you, do you think he’d be so anxious after getting engaged? Do you know that he has nightmares every night? He’s just too worried about you, and he feels sorry for you because you’re young if you actually break it off with him, he’ll fall apart.”
Raine nodded vigorously at the side. “Brad’s right. Tyrone really cares about you, Aella”
She had seen her brother staring at Aella’s photos on his phone more than once.
Aella couldn’t fully understand Tyrone’s behavior either
Tyrone had always been decisive. He wasn’t someone who dragged things out
This time, though, his act of calling off the engagement felt unusually strange.
But she had already confronted Tyrone twice and given him chances, since he still hadn’t told her the truth, she wasn’t about to humiliate herself by asking a third time.
“Mr. Keller, someone is looking for you outside.”

The Cunningham family’s butler approached the three of them politely.
Brad hesitated for a moment, then stood up. “You two come with me.”
Aella stayed seated. “Brad, go take care of your business. I’ll wait here.”
Brad scanned the room and didn’t spot Zera or Anna.
Since Tyrone had told him to keep Aella within sight, he was clearly worried about retaliation from them.
Brad turned to the butler. “Go tell whoever’s looking for me that I’m busy.”
The butler nodded respectfully and left.

In the side hall, Zera saw that Brad hadn’t taken the bait. She lowered her voice and said to Jenny, “Brad may look carefree, but he’s sharp. You go draw him away.”
Jenny patted her chest confidently. “Don’t worry, Zera. I’ll make sure Mr. Brad and Ms. Winter are distracted.”
Jenny came out of the side hall holding a wine glass and headed straight toward Aella and the others.
Before she could reach them, Brad stopped her. “Ms. Townsend, if you have something to say, say it from there.”
Jenny stopped a few steps away from Aella, freezing awkwardly.
The mostly full glass of red wine in her hand suddenly had nowhere to go.
Just then, Anna walked over with a warm smile. “Mr. Brad, Mr. Jalen would like to see you.”
Brad asked, “My older brother?”
Anna replied, “Mr. Jalen seems to have run into someone he knows and wants you to come over right away,”
Brad looked toward Aella.
Aelia stood up and urged him, “Brad, go take care of it. Raine and I won’t wander off”
Brad warned them, “Aella, you and Raine stay right here. Don’t go anywhere.”
Aella and Raine nodded obediently.
Brad hurried away
Anna exchanged a look with Jenny, then turned and followed after Brad
A few minutes later, Raine stood up. “Aetia, I’m going to the restroom”
