Jenny shot Aella gave one last venomous glare, then turned and headed toward the staircase leading to the second floor.

Aella was chatting with a few classmates but kept getting the nagging feeling that someone was watching her from behind.

She glanced back but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

Just then, her friend Cassandra said she needed to use the restroom.

Aella stood up with her. “I’ll come with you.”

In the hallway outside the second–floor restroom, Aella said to Cassandra, “I’ll wait for you right here.”

She didn’t actually need to go–she’d used it as an excuse to dodge the drinks.

They were all girls, but somehow they could drink harder than most guys she knew.

Cassandra went in by herself.

A few minutes later, she stepped out of the stall, looked around, and realized the restroom was empty except for her and one other

person.

Cassandra was about to leave when Jenny stepped in front of her and blocked her path.

Cassandra was timid by nature, and the calculating look in Jenny’s eyes made her back up instinctively.

Jenny kept advancing until she had Cassandra pinned against the wall.

She pulled a thick stack of cash from her bag and lowered her voice. “Cassandra, your dad took every last dollar your family had and ran off with his side chick, leaving your mom buried in debt with you and your twin brothers to take care of: Am I wrong?”

Cassandra’s eyes narrowed with suspicion. “How do you know about my family?”

Jenny let out a cold laugh. “I also know that when your mother went to your father asking for money, he and his side chick ganged up on your mother and broke three of her ribs. She’s still at home recovering as we speak.”

Being exposed like that by a complete stranger left Cassandra drowning in shame and fear.

She looked toward the restroom door, shoved past Jenny, and tried to leave.

Jenny blocked her again. “There’s 30,000 dollars right here. Help me with one thing, and I’ll give you another 100,000 dollars when it’s done.”

Cassandra didn’t dare to touch the money. “What do you want me to do?”

Jenny patted Cassandra’s shoulder and fed her a lie. “I’ll be straight with you–Aella and I used to be close friends. We had a falling out recently over a misunderstanding, and now she won’t even talk to me.”

Cassandra’s gut told her something was off, and she backed away cautiously. “I’m sorry. I can’t help you.”

Jenny couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

To get at that bitch Aella, she’d taken Anna’s advice and gone after someone in Aella’s inner circle.

Sure enough, she’d found the perfect weak spot.

Jenny moved closer to Cassandra.

Cassandra suddenly grabbed Jenny’s hand. “Are you serious?”

Seeing that she’d finally gotten a reaction, Jenny pressed harder. “If you help me get Aella to come out, I’ll hand over every piece of evidence I have.”

Cassandra’s eyes wavered, and she let go of Jenny’s hand.

She asked cautiously, “If I bring Aella to you, you swear it’s really just to apologize?”

Jenny nodded firmly. “This whole thing was my fault. I never should have let some guy come between me and a friend like Aella. I genuinely want to make things right.”

Jenny added, “If you agree to bring her to me, I’ll give you all the evidence. Once you have that in your hands, you can use it to get leverage over that woman, or even get your dad to come back to the family. You and your mom and your brothers would never have to put up with those two ever again. What do you say?”

When she saw Cassandra still hesitating, Jenny let out a sigh. “Look, if you don’t trust me, forget it. I can always find someone else to help.”

Jenny turned and started walking away.

Cassandra stood frozen, torn apart inside.

Just as Jenny reached for the restroom door, Cassandra rushed after her. “I’ll do it.”
