Chapter 120
Eliana watched Dylan leave, and her hatred for Stella deepened.
‘He’s still in love with Stella, even if he doesn’t realize it. Her woman’s intuition screamed it at her.
She smashed the teacup against the floor. She never waited on anyone.
The one time she deigned to make something for him, Dylan wouldn’t even take a sip.
“Damn it.” ‘Could he know about that incident? Is that why he’s disgusted with me?’
She called a maid to clean up the mess before storming upstairs to deal with Liam.
The moment the door swung open, Liam knew he was in for it.

“Get up, you little bastard,” Eliana snarled. “You’re not sleeping tonight. You can’t even keep your own father here. What good are you?
“Your cheap, shameless mother is always scheming, ruining my plans. Now she’s made your father suspicious. If I can’t marry him, you’re worthless to me. I’ll kill you myself and make Stella suffer for the rest of her life.”
Furious, she dragged his small body out onto the balcony.
Liam cried out toward the door. “I know I was wrong! Daddy, save me! Why are you doing this to me? Why do you hit me every day? Daddy, why are you just standing there? Why won’t you save me? Mommy’s going to hit me! Please, don’t do this. I’ll be good. I’ll eat my food and go to sleep. I won’t bother you…”
Eliana was too angry to register his words. She ordered him to stay on the balcony and not come back inside.
After giving him a sharp kick, she drew the curtains shut and went to bed.
When the lights went out, Liam stopped crying. He calmly curled up on the cold balcony floor. A chill crept into his bones and a thought sparked in his mind. ‘If I get sick, they’ll have to take me to a doctor. I might get a chance to find my real
mom.
With this new hope, Liam sat quietly, not making a sound,
When exhaustion took over, he lay down on the hard ground and drifted off to sleep. He was used to this.
Dylan returned to a dark, empty house, the silence wrapping around him like a shroud of loneliness.
He didn’t turn on the lights, sinking onto the sofa in the darkness.
He remembered how Stella would always be waiting for him when he came home late
She’d hand him a warm, restorative broth that seemed to wash away the day’s Fatigue.
He glanced toward the kitchen, but it was just a dark, empty space. The loneliness felt suffocating
He let out a long breath, an inexplicable longing for Stella tightening in his chest

The next morning, Serena Hale–Stella’s true identity–jolted awake from another nightmare.
She had dreamed of Liam, his small voice crying out. “Mommy, save me! Why aren’t you coming to save me?”
Tears streamed down her face as she woke. The torment was driving her mad.
She’d already confirmed that Eliana’s childbirth timeline didn’t match her own.
Their children were born six months apart
And Liam recognized her. He was her son.
