She gently ruffled his hair, her smile full of love. “Sweetie, I promise I’ll take you with me everywhere from now on. I’ll never leave you behind, and I’ll never let you feel insecure again. With me by your side, no one will ever dare to bully you.”

Liam’s eyes grew misty. For the first time, he finally felt his mom was really there for him.

He nestled into her arms, breathing in her comforting scent.

“Sweetie, how about we take a bath first? After that, we’ll go have dinner,” Serena said. Her voice was so gentle that Liam felt like he was lying in a warm, soothing spring, every part of him feeling completely at ease.

“Okay, Mom,” Liam replied. Serena carefully placed him in the healing bath.

“Wow! This feels so good,” Liam exclaimed, his face lighting up with joy. He couldn’t quite put it into words, but being wrapped in the warm water made his whole body feel so comfortable.

When Serena saw the bruises on his back, a flash of murderous intent flickered in her eyes.

She grabbed a white towel, dampened it, and gently draped it over Liam’s shoulders. The bathroom was filled with a faint, medicinal fragrance.

The warmth on his back felt so good that Liam couldn’t help but smile. His big, once–dull eyes now sparkled with happiness. He turned to look at Serena and said, “Mom, this is the best bath I’ve ever had. Before, whenever Eliana bathed me, she’d just call me a troublemaker and a little brat the whole time.”

Serena’s expression grew even darker. ‘All I did today was break Eliana’s left arm. She really got off easy, she thought.

Liam was so happy, rambling on and on, and Serena kept getting cracked up by his adorable chatter.

Their bath time together flew by, and after half an hour, Serena scooped Liam out of the tub.

Liam’s back was feeling much better now.

Serena carried him out, dressed him in some comfy clothes, and the swelling in his little hands had gone down a lot.

Serena carried Liam downstairs for dinner. Bennett was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. When he saw the adorable Liam in Serena’s arms, his face lit up with joy.

Serena looked at Bennett and said, “Sweetie, call him Great–Grandpa Bennett.”

Liam, ever the sweet talker, chirped, “Hi, Great–Grandpa Bennett!”

“Ah, such a thoughtful boy, Liam. There’s a whole spread of delicious food waiting. If you ever want anything, just let Great Grandpa know, and I’ll have the kitchen whip it up for you,” Bennett said warmly.

With this little guy in the house, things are going to get a lot more lively around here. This place will never feel lonely again.
