Dylan watched as Miles muttered to himself, “So the paternity test my dad took was for Yvonne and him?”
A flash of hatred flickered in Dylan’s eyes. ‘So my mom’s lover was from the Ashford family, Dylan thought
Miles shook his head, looking clueless. ‘How would I know?‘ he thought. Now that the test results were finally out, this was the only real proof they had.
“No idea. The only way we’ll ever know the truth is if we track down Nolan,” Miles replied.
He was no stranger to this kind of drama.
The truth was always hidden by people with secrets to protect. Dylan trusted Eliana too much. He’d never see what was really going on, only the version Eliana wanted him to believe.
“Mr. Ashford, if we want to get to the bottom of this, we need to keep things under the radar,” Miles said.
Miles couldn’t help but remind Dylan in his mind, ‘If he wants to make it out of this alive, he needs to think things through and take it slow.
Dylan’s eyes were icy as he glanced sideways at Miles. “So, how to keep things under the radar?”
Miles didn’t sugarcoat it. “Mr. Ashford, you’ve always trusted Eliana and never really seen her true colors. If you want to win Mrs. Hale’s heart back, you have to get to the bottom of what happened all those years ago.”
“What did you just say?” Dylan stared at him in shock.
Miles was taken aback, too. ‘Did I say something wrong?‘ he wondered.
Thinking back, he realized it was probably the part about winning Stella’s heart back that had ticked Dylan off.
“Sorry, Mr. Ashford. I forgot you don’t care about Mrs. Hale,” Miles apologized.
Dylan pursed his lips. It was not that he didn’t care for Stella. In fact, ever since she left, it felt like he’d lost his soul
‘Could I really win her heart back?‘ he wondered.
Dylan’s brows knitted together as he stared at the car ahead, his gaze deep and unreadable.
Stella was with Spencer. One was his best friend, the other was his ex–wife.
Dylan went quiet all of a sudden, his eyes turning so deep that there wasn’t a hint of light left.

Chris pulled up in front of the restaurant, and Serena and Spencer got out of the car.
Spencer walked right over to Serena, his eyes lighting up as he took in her outfit. She looked stunning in a pink dress, elegant yet still polished, the skirt swaying softly with every step, leaving a graceful arc in the air.
He smiled gently, his gaze lingering on her radiant, gorgeous face. “Serena, you look absolutely beautiful tonight,” he said.
Her dress totally matched his vibe, and when they walked side by side, they just looked perfect together.

Chapter 209

Serena felt a little shy at his compliment and glanced at her outfit. I have so many dresses in my closet, she thought.
“Spencer, thanks! You look super handsome!” she smiled.
Spencer grinned and shot her words right back at her, “Serena, thanks! You look gorgeous!”
Both of them couldn’t help but laugh as they caught each other’s eyes.
“Alright, Spencer, we’ve known each other forever. Let’s skip the flattery,” Serena said, trying to play it cool.
Her cheeks flushed pink. Even though she was a grown woman, had been married, and was a mom, she still got embarrassed by compliments.
