Dylan noticed Spencer, his former close friend, still showing concern for his ex–wife, and a heavy, stifling discomfort settled in his chest.

“Stella, you haven’t fully recovered yet, have you? Why did you come to a bar?” Dylan walked over and looked down at Serena from above. His brows were slightly furrowed, his gaze wild and unruly, his manner unmistakably arrogant.

Serena cast him a faint glance. “Whether I’ve recovered or not has nothing to do with you. And why are you here?”

Spencer also glanced at Dylan, his look lazy yet wicked. “Dylan, as an ex–husband, you should have disappeared from Stella’s life a long time ago.

“I honestly don’t understand your recent behavior. Today alone, you’ve shown up around Stella twice. What exactly are you trying to do?”

Spencer was smiling, but mockery filled his eyes.

Dylan’s cool, untamed aura suddenly turned sharp and icy. “Spencer, this is my business. It has nothing to do with you,” he said.

Spencer handed Serena a glass of water. “Stella, drink some water.”

“Thank you.” Serena took the glass and sipped.

Seeing the intimate interaction between Serena and Spencer made Dylan’s mood sink even further. His expression darkened, as if a thick shadow had descended over his face.

Dylan sat down beside Stella.

Stella immediately stood up and moved to the sofa opposite him, avoiding him as if he were the plague.

“Spencer, come over here,” Stella said worriedly.

The thought of Eliana carrying some kind of pathogen, and the fact that Dylan had been with her, made Serena uneasy. If mere contact could spread it, that would be terrifying.

Now, every time Serena saw Dylan, she felt anxious.

Her love had already failed, and she was determined to protect her health at all costs.

Serena was weak now, especially vulnerable to infection.

Seeing her remain silent only fueled the anger in Dylan’s deep eyes.

But Serena kept her head lowered and ignored him, leaving him completely helpless.

Dylan turned his gaze toward Yolanda and Julian, who were discussing liquor.

Yolanda noticed Dylan and subtly shifted forward.

Dylan’s eyes were sharp enough to kill.

Yolanda looked at Julian and said, “Mr. Sinclair, I tried a few glasses of the cocktails you mixed earlier. They were genuinely very good.”
