Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Eliana glanced at Dylan across the table, a sense of unease creeping into her heart. “Dad, calm down. What’s going on?”
Jasper sounded frantic, his voice hoarse. “Eliana, Kismet Bar has terminated all cooperation with us. This could ruin us. For years, they’ve been our biggest client. Now, with them suddenly cutting ties, we’re losing millions in profit every month.”
Eliana asked, bewildered, “Why would they terminate all cooperation so abruptly?”
Across the table, Dylan frowned slightly but remained silent.
Jasper spoke urgently, “I don’t know the reason either. I heard that after the sudden inspection by Kismet Bar’s new management, they stopped using our liquor altogether. This can’t happen. If the cooperation ends, our family will go bankrupt.
“Eliana, please beg Dylan for me. He loves you so much. Ask him to reach out to the person in charge at Kismet Bar and stop them from canceling the cooperation. Kismet Bar is currently the largest establishment in the area, and our family has relied on it entirely these past years. Eliana, you must persuade Dylan properly.”
Eliana felt utterly helpless. She hadn’t even married Dylan yet, and now she had to ask him for a favor first. Given Beatrice’s temperament, she would certainly disapprove.
Beatrice noticed Eliana’s troubled expression and asked, “Eliana, what’s wrong? Did something happen at home? You look so pale.”
Eliana was truly anxious. If her family went bankrupt, she would lose her backing and no longer be a suitable match for Dylan. She had to make him help her.
With a pleading look, she turned to Beatrice. “Mrs. Ashford, I’m so sorry, but my family has run into some trouble. We may need your help.”
Beatrice’s mind quickly assessed the situation. Thinking of Jasper, that utterly useless man, she guessed he had likely been exposed–probably selling counterfeit liquor—and was now coming to them for rescue.
Beatrice said gently, “Tell us what’s going on. Don’t rush. Take your time.” She looked at Eliana with genuine concern, still unable to bear seeing her so distressed. The Lambert family truly were a bunch of fools. It pained Beatrice to see how they had raised Eliana this way.
Eliana bit her lip, hesitating for a long moment before finally turning to Dylan. “Dylan, you have to help my family this time. Kismet Bar suddenly terminated all our cooperation. The Lambert family will collapse.”
A flicker of doubt passed through Dylan’s deep–set eyes. He didn’t understand why the cooperation would end so abruptly.
He comforted, “Eliana, Kismet Bar’s business hasn’t been doing well for a while. From what I can see, it’s Kismet Bar that might be on the verge of collapse, not your family. With your father’s years of connections, he can surely find other bars to partner with.”

Chapter 30
Eliana shook her head, her anxiety mounting. “Dylan, it’s worse than that. My father took out a loan last month to buy a plot of land. If the contract falls through and he can’t repay the loan, our family will go bankrupt very soon.”
Dylan’s frown deepened. He knew Jasper and was aware this person wasn’t exactly reputable. Still, our of gratitude for Eliana saving his life, he felt he should lend a hand.
“Alright then. After lunch, I’ll meet with the general manager of Kismet Bar and see what’s going on. If I can help. I won’t refuse.” Dylan lowered his gaze slightly, his eyes deep and unreadable like a still pond.
Eliana, however, was overjoyed. She had always known that life debt would come in handy. Dylan would never turn her down.
