Chapter 352
Dylan’s grip on the steering wheel tightened as he slammed on the brakes.
Stella lurched forward with a groan.
A sharp, tearing pain shot through her arm.
Dylan wanted to say “it’s not like that” to explain himself, but he forgot she was hurt.
Seeing how much pain she was in, he felt really sorry for her.

He gazed at her intensely. ‘Stella, you’re the one who saved me. I swear, I’ll never let you go, not ever, Dylan thought.
Seeing her in so much pain, Dylan stayed silent and headed straight for the hospital. There was one close by.
A few minutes later, Dylan stopped the car right outside the hospital entrance.
The hospital was lit up, with people bustling in and out.
He jumped out, opened the car door, unbuckled Serena’s seatbelt, and swept her up into his arms without hesitation.
Serena frowned and said, “Put me down. I can walk on my own.”
Dylan growled in a low voice, “Don’t move.”
He rushed her into the hospital, not wasting a second.
Serena’s face was pale, and she didn’t have the strength to argue with him.
Once they got to the ER, Dylan called out for a doctor to come and bandage her wound, and then rushed off to handle the hospital admission.
While Dylan was away, Serena borrowed the doctor’s phone to call her grandpa, so he wouldn’t worry.
The wound was deep, and after they stitched her up, she needed to be put on an IV.
She thought, ‘Come to think of it, ever since I left Dylan, I’ve just been getting hurt again and again.
‘All of this was Jasper’s doing.
‘But this time, I’m actually glad he went to a head–hunting company. He’s finally going to pay for what he did.
The hospital reeked of disinfectant.
The doctor was stitching up Serena’s wound when she noticed an old scar on her arm.
The doctor couldn’t help but say, “Miss, your arm is covered in overlapping wounds. You really need to take

“This time, nothing major was hurt, but if you keep getting injured like this, you could lose too much blood. Look at you, your face is as pale as the snow outside.”
Serena felt the warmth in the doctor’s words and managed a smile. “Alright, thank you, doctor. I’ll be careful.”
Dylan had just reached the door when he overheard the doctor’s words.
His fists clenched. He thought, ‘It’s Jasper.
‘He just couldn’t wait to mess things up.
“That damn bastard. I’m going to settle the score with him tomorrow.
“Alright, you need to head to the infusion room,” the doctor said, snipping the last stitch and reminding Serena.
“Thank you!” Serena stood up, her slender figure seeming ready to topple over.
Dylan helped her to the infusion room. She lay down on the hospital bed, and before the doctor even came to start the IV, she was already fast asleep.
The nurse and doctor came in together, hooked Serena up to the IV, and then the doctor turned to Dylan. “She’s really frail, so you need to watch her closely. If anything seems off, get a doctor ASAP.”
Dylan gave a calm nod. “Alright, thank you, doctor.”
After the doctor left, Dylan stayed quietly by Serena’s side, keeping her company.
She’d lost so much weight, and her face was even smaller now. But her beauty ran deep. It was in the elegant lines of her bone structure, each feature sharp and refined.
He let out a self–deprecating laugh. “Stella, you must think I’m such a fool,” he whispered to himself.

Meanwhile, Jasper was at home, restless and unable to sleep, just waiting for any news from the other side.
As midnight approached, he picked up his phone and dialed.
“Brad, did you succeed?” Jasper asked excitedly.
Brad sighed helplessly. “No, Jasper. Serena just got a minor injury. And I went through a head–hunting company, so relax, it’ll be fine.”
Jasper was shocked. “Are you crazy? I told you to do it yourself! Why’d you use a head–hunting company? If anyone finds out, we’re both screwed!”
He’d spent most of his life watching his back. He couldn’t afford to screw up at his age. If he fell now, he might never bounce back.

Brad tried to reassure him. “Hey, our guys have been tied up lately, so I went through a head–hunting company. They won’t be able to track it to us. I used a fake name, so just chill.”
But Jasper wasn’t convinced. “Brad, don’t you know the rules? The second you step into a head–hunting company, all your info goes on their records. Even with a fake name, you’re still on the hook.”
