“Even when I was pregnant, he couldn’t stop himself from hitting me. He claimed he loved me more than life itself, but every time he went out drinking for business, he’d come home and take it all out on me.

“Afterward, he’d cried in front of me, begging for forgiveness, and I forgave him again and again. But all I got in return was more pain, more violence. I swear, I never killed him.

“You don’t have to suspect me. He vanished, and even I have no clue where he went.”

‘Maybe he got into an accident after drinking, or maybe he’s just hiding out, refusing to come back. He loved me so much. I just can’t help but believe he’ll come back to me one day.”

It was all because of Tyler that I ended up sick. If he hadn’t abused me that night, I wouldn’t have run out, and I never would’ve run into those bastards, Eliana thought.

Mariana’s eyes grew icy. She knew she had to keep Eliana steady for now. Cassie needed to grow up by her side, so she could become a decent, kind, and courageous girl.

Mariana said, “You’re not the right person to raise Cassie. Just leave. Let her stay with me. If you really love her, you’ll do what’s best for her. If you agree, I’ll hand over your company to you.”
