“Stella, what are you doing here?” Dylan asked, a faint, charming smile curling on his lips.

Serena looked up and met Dylan’s inquisitive gaze, then took a few steps back.

She raised an eyebrow at him. Dylan was dressed casually, clean, fresh, and with a hint of mischief. In casual clothes, he was even more captivating than in a suit.

This style didn’t diminish his calm and commanding presence; Dylan still looked reserved and mature.

“What do I have to do with you being here?” Her emotions stirred fiercely, but her voice remained cold enough to make Dylan frown.

Dylan’s eyes darkened slightly. “Stella, you’ve changed.”

“People change,” Serena said with a bitter smile. She quietly stared at the man she once loved but couldn’t have, a sharp pain suddenly stabbing her heart.

Her throat felt tight and dry, but her tone stayed detached. “Dylan, from the day I married you, I cared for you deeply, but you were always cold and harsh toward me.

“You treated outsiders politely but were strict and blaming with me. Even if this was a marriage of convenience, I did everything I was supposed to, endured everything I had to. Now that we’re divorced, please stay far away from me.”

Before the divorce, she might go two or three months without seeing him.

Afterwards, she saw him every day, and it drove her mad.

Dylan did for Eliana what he never did for Serena.

Serena had thrown herself at him so desperately that she looked pitiful.

But Dylan never appreciated it. He always trampled on her true feelings.

“Dylan, I’m begging you. Stay away from me. We had a marriage contract. But why did you sleep with me? Afterward, you casually used drunkenness as an excuse, saying you lost control. Then you stood by and watched my child slip away from this world.

“When I gave birth alone, my baby was alive at first. But within half an hour, my child was gone. Even if you didn’t love that child, if you had stayed by my side, maybe the baby wouldn’t have left me.

“Dylan, I hate you,” Tears trembled in Serena’s eyes as she said.

Her intense hatred shook Dylan deeply. Pain twisted his chest, and his stomach ached faintly. “Stella, I-”

Serena spotted a car arriving and turned to get in, giving Dylan no chance to speak.

Dylan knew he was in the wrong. Stella’s premature birth came two weeks early, and he had been on a

His stomach churned painfully as he watched the car carrying Stella drive away. He got back into his own car and told Miles to head back to the company.

Stella arrived at Kingsbridge Hospital, the very place where she had given birth before.

She had never dared to come here.

She was afraid that being here would bring back memories of her baby.

She looked up at the hospital ahead; her whole body stiffened. She hesitated to enter, afraid her suspicions were just fake.

But then she remembered Liam’s cry, like a voice deep inside urging her to find the truth.

She still recalled that winter day when she slipped going down the stairs.

She felt she had stepped on some kind of lubricant.

But at the time, her stomach hurt, and she didn’t have time to think much. She came to the hospital alone.
