Chapter 60
The more Serena thought about it, the more unsettled she became. Without someone helping Eliana, there was no way Eliana could have pulled it off.
Only with the doctors‘ cooperation and Dylan’s family backing her did Eliana manage to replace both the patient and the medical records with her own.
Back then, Serena had been left with complications and transferred to another hospital for treatment. That was where she met Spencer. It was only later that she found out he and Dylan were friends.
Serena had always believed that Dylan knew she was the donor. She thought his coldness toward her was simply because he did not love her.
Serena replayed everything from that time over and over in her mind, but the clues she could find were painfully few.
Irritated, Serena stood up. This was not what mattered right now.
What mattered was getting to the bottom of Liam’s identity. When Serena thought of the way Liam had called her “Mom“, sobbing uncontrollably in her arms before finally falling asleep peacefully, her heart shattered in an instant.
‘What kind of bond do Liam and I really share? I have to find out the truth. I need an explanation, and my son deserves justice,‘ Serena wondered.
Serena steadied herself and waited for news from Caleb.
She watched a romance film with an open ending. The male lead broke up with the woman he had loved for seven years for the sake of his family’s interests.
After marrying an heiress, they each got what they wanted, and two years later, they divorced.
By then, the female lead had already achieved her dream and reached the peak of her life.
When the male lead tried to win her back, she said, “I don’t need you anymore. When I needed you, you walked away without looking back. I hope we can both be well in the future.”
The final scene showed the two of them walking away from each other in opposite directions.
Serena took a deep breath.
People who loved each other could not be together. They fell in love, they got hurt, yet they never realized that when love ran deep, loneliness followed, and failing to grow old with the one you loved seemed to be a constant in life.
Serena had once believed that love could make up for many of her regrets. Now, she was no longer so sure.
The mindset of an eighteen–year–old and that of a twenty–five–year–old were clearly not the same.

Chapter 60
Serena set the tablet down on the table, stood up, and walked over to the floor–to–ceiling window, gazing
outside.
She realized that time was a strange thing.
It could help people let go of many regrets, and it could also make them completely release their past obsessions. Love was never something you could force.
When love came, she cherished it. When love left, all that remained was regret and a few beautiful memories.
What was laughable was that there were no beautiful memories between Serena and Dylan at all.
“Stella, I’m back,” Spencer said.
Serena turned around, looked at him, and smiled, “Hello, Spencer.”
Seeing the smile at the corner of her lips, Spencer felt that something was different.
“Spencer, I think it’s time for me to say goodbye to the past,” Serena said. “Hello, Spencer. Let me properly introduce myself. My name is Serena.”
No one knew the real name of the heiress of Cloudmere Estate.
Even if Serena revealed her real name, no one would be able to trace it.
Spencer looked at her quietly. Her bright, beautiful eyes resembled a vast sea of brilliant stars, lighting up his world and making him want to draw closer, to understand her.
