Afraid he might lie, Serena threatened him coldly. “If you don’t tell the truth, I’ll crush your eyeballs and make sure you’re blind for the rest of your life.”

The man was terrified. He knew Serena was absolutely capable of doing it.

He said, “Okay, I’ll talk. Dylan sent us. He told us to deal with you. You’ve been going against him, and he doesn’t want you staying in this city anymore. He wants you gone for good.”

At the same time, Dylan, who had seen that something was wrong, rushed to the scene.

When Dylan heard the man’s words, his gaze turned dark and heavy.

Serena released the man. She turned around and saw Dylan standing not far away.

Their eyes met. Dylan’s heart tightened. ‘She believed what that man just said, didn’t she?‘ he thought.

“Stella,” Dylan said.

“Shut up, Dylan,” Serena snapped. “So this is what you really think of me. I’ve been nothing but an eyesore to you in this city.”

She smiled bitterly as she picked up her bag and still called the police.

She was done putting up with it.

“Stella, I didn’t do this,” Dylan said, staring at her intently as he stepped toward her. His presence pressed down on her with overwhelming force.

Serena lowered her phone and looked straight at him, disappointment written all over her face. “Dylan, you said the thing with Pierre was an accident, too. Tonight, that man admitted it, and you’re still saying it wasn’t you? Were you trying to kill me?”

She lowered her gaze to the men on the ground who couldn’t get back up, then looked back at Dylan with a cold, mocking smile. “Dylan, let’s make a bet. You’ll die before I do.”

“Stella, that’s enough,” Dylan roared.

Serena handed everything over to the police. Without sparing Dylan another glance, she turned around and walked away.

Dylan was stopped by the police for questioning and had no chance to explain anything to Stella.

He watched her leave. Blood was flowing freely from her injured arm, yet she didn’t seem to care at all. Dylan was furious and confused.

‘I don’t know these men at all. Why would they say I sent them?‘ he wondered.

Dylan’s thoughts jumped to the incident with Pierre. Stella had said that Pierre claimed Dylan wanted her

While Dylan was still trying to piece things together, the police escorted him into a patrol car.

The sip of alcohol Jasper had just taken sprayed straight out of his mouth.

His pupils widened in disbelief. “Dylan was there, too?”

“Yes, Mr. Lambert. What should I do now?” the man asked anxiously.

Jasper sneered, “Relax. They took my money. They won’t sell me out. At most, they’ll tell Dylan it was all a misunderstanding. That’s something I arranged in advance. Come back.”

Jasper hung up the phone. A playful, calculating smile crept across his cunning face. Four men couldn’t even take care of Stella; that was unexpected.

It seemed he would have to move on to the next plan.

This time, it would all depend on his daughter, Eliana.

Meanwhile, Serena had already met up with Chris by the roadside.

When Chris saw the injury on her arm, he was shocked. “Ms. Hale, what happened to you?”

‘Spencer took Ms. Hale out. How did she end up hurt?‘ Chris thought.

Serena glanced at her wounded arm. It hurt badly.

She pressed her hand against the bleeding spot, her voice hoarse. “Take me to the hospital. Then I need you to help me take care of something.”

Chris nodded. “Okay. Ms. Hale, just tell me what you need.”
