Chapter 65
Serena hadn’t planned to move against the Lambert family just yet, but Jasper had made his move in the shadows. Dylan might have been an accomplice, but Jasper was clearly the mastermind.
Serena had intended to wait and see what Jasper would do next.
After all, Eliana alone couldn’t have pulled off what happened back then.
But now, Serena no longer needed to hold back.
As long as there were people who knew the truth, it would eventually be laid bare before her.
“Chris, after you take me to the hospital, I want you to leak information about the Lambert family through other channels,” Serena said calmly as she laid out her plan. “But before you do that, you need to make a trip to Dylan’s bar.”
After listening, Chris clapped his hands in approval, grinning from ear to ear. “Ms. Hale, you should’ve done this a long time ago. Jasper is a complete bastard.”
Serena’s expression gradually hardened, turning cold and merciless. She knew perfectly well that the Lambert family had gone after her to keep Eliana’s secret from being exposed.
But secrets like that couldn’t stay buried forever.
Serena refused to let the credit that should have been hers be stolen so easily by Eliana.
Chris took Serena to the hospital to have her wound treated, then drove her home to rest.
After that, he began making arrangements for what came next.

At the police department, the four men who had been arrested stubbornly insisted that Dylan had ordered them to harm Serena, but they had no concrete evidence.
Dylan wiped away the usual reckless smile from his handsome face and stared at them coldly. “You’d better tell the truth.”
His gaze was sharp, icy, and devoid of mercy. The crushing pressure made it hard for the men to even lift their heads.
The man who seemed to be their boss was filled with regret. If he had known he’d end up offending someone like this, no amount of money would have tempted him to take the job.
Now he was stuck in an impossible situation. There was no evidence to frame Dylan, but if he didn’t stick to the story, they’d suffer in prison.
It was a damn stupid thing. They hadn’t even had time to enjoy the money before landing behind bars.

His whole body ached as he spoke stubbornly. “Everything I said is true. All I have is a single text message telling us to deal with Stella. If that’s not enough to count as evidence, then I don’t know who’s really behind this.”
No matter what, he couldn’t expose the real mastermind. If he did, his life would be over.
His family was under that person’s control. If he kept quiet and took the fall, his family would be taken care of.
They’d suffer in prison, but their families would live comfortably outside. From his point of view, that was a fair trade.
Dylan narrowed his eyes. He knew these four wouldn’t give up the real person behind it all.
He decided to investigate on his own.
In the end, Dylan was released due to insufficient evidence.
By the time he walked out, it was already nine o’clock at night.
Thinking that Stella was injured, he called her.
Dylan dialed three times in a row, but each call went straight to voicemail. Only then did he remember, Stella had blocked all his contact information.
A cold, mocking smile appeared on Dylan’s striking face. “Stella, you’re really ruthless. You didn’t even give me a chance to explain.”
He looked toward the brightly lit buildings in the distance, neon lights flickering.
His emotions were tangled and heavy.
‘How did things between Stella and me end up like this? I never once wanted to hurt her. All these years, I was genuinely grateful for everything she did for me. Someone is clearly plotting against us, yet Stella believed it, he wondered.

“Hi, Mr. Ashford.” Miles walked over, his expression serious. “What happened tonight is very suspicious. They wanted to hurt Mrs. Hale, no, Ms. Hale, and then pin it on you, completely driving a wedge between the two of you.
“Mr. Ashford, don’t forget something important. Over the past few years, it was Ms. Hale who helped you build countless connections. That’s how the Ashford family rose so quickly and became one of the new elites in Kingsbridge.”
