Chapter 95
Ding. The elevator doors slid open.
Chris Maddox stepped out.
Seeing him, Miles Carter hurried over with a wide smile.
“Chris, hey! Good to see you!” Miles beamed.

Chris flinched and quickly sidestepped him, keeping a wide berth as if Miles were carrying the plague.
Miles froze, confused. What was with that look of pure disgust?
He sniffed his shirt. He’d just showered last night and even put on cologne. He smelled fine.
But Chris just gave him a wide, fearful berth and walked on without a single word.
The blatant rejection stung. What the hell was his problem?
Didn’t Chris know how much a look like that could hurt?
The uncertainty gnawed at him.
He glanced at his reflection in the polished elevator doors. His face was fine–perfectly handsome, as always.
Then, Serena’s words about a “communicable disease” hit him. He spun around, found an empty corner, and pulled out his phone. He searched for “common STDs in women.”
His mind raced, connecting the dots.
He replayed the scene at the lounge in his head: Stella wrapping a tissue around Dylan’s wrist to take his pulse, the constant look of revulsion on her face whenever she saw Dylan. His heart lurched. When the search results loaded, his eyes went wide.
‘Oh, my God,‘ he breathed. ‘So that’s what she meant.’
Miles sprinted back to his car, yanked open his laptop, and began hacking into the medical records of every hospital Eliana might have visited abroad.
All hospitals required real names.
“Eliana Lambert” was a common enough name, but Miles was a master hacker. He had his ways of narrowing it down.
From his own car not far away, Chris watched Miles work and smiled faintly.
He got into his car and opened his own laptop. He had anticipated this, knew Miles’s methods, and had already laid the groundwork. In less than half an hour, he guided Miles straight to Eliana’s medical file.

Chapter 95
The moment Miles saw the diagnosis for an STD, he was dumbstruck.
‘No, it can’t be her, he thought.
It had to be someone with the same name.
But how many women with the same name and a similar age could there be living abroad?

Unwilling to accept it, he started hacking into the hospital’s security archives. He needed to see the footage for himself.
The diagnosis was from three years ago. If that was true, how could she have dared to get pregnant later?
Miles realized there was a lot more to Eliana than he’d ever imagined.
Digging through the surveillance footage would take some time.

Upstairs, Serena was waiting alone in one of the labs designated for the competitors.
She was looking at her phone when the door was suddenly pushed open.
Dylan and Eliana walked in, standing shoulder–to–shoulder, a picture of intimacy.
The three of them locked eyes. Eliana tensed up, while a flicker of surprise crossed Dylan’s face.
