From His Ex-Wife to the World's Most Sought-After Restorer (Jade and Hudson) novel Chapter 215

Jade nodded. "Good. I'll give you some time. Contact Amara and get her to meet you. Send me the time and place. No later than tomorrow afternoon, or your secrets will be sitting on Michael Merchant's desk in a nice file."

Chloe agreed frantically. "I will! I'll do it as fast as I can!"

-

Grandview Estate.

When Jade walked through the door, she saw a row of store associates in uniforms organizing clothes in the living room.

She glanced over; it was all this season's newest luxury items and rare custom pieces. They were hanging on rows of racks, almost filling the entire living room.

With just one look, Jade looked away and started heading upstairs.

Suddenly, a woman with a manager's pin on her chest hurried over, blocking her path and handing her a clipboard.

"Mrs. Walter, these are the clothes Mr. Walter ordered for you. They're all tailored to your size. Please sign for them so we can head back to the boutique."

Jade didn't take it, stepping back.

"Go find the person who ordered them. Don't come to me."

She continued upstairs, completely indifferent to the room full of high-end fashion.

The manager looked bewildered as she watched her go.

"This..."

"Give me the clipboard." Hudson walked in with long strides. He glanced at Jade's retreating figure, his eyes darkening, and signed the paper directly.

"You can go now."

The manager nodded and led the associates out.

As they left, she was still full of confusion.

So Mr. Walter was home. She thought he wasn't there; otherwise, why would he insist on his wife signing for it?

The world of the rich was truly beyond her understanding.

Jade reached her room and received a message from Chloe.

"7:30 PM, Hailee Bay Club, third floor."

She didn't expect Chloe to move so fast.

She checked the time; it was a little after 6:40 PM.

She searched for the location of the Hailee Bay Club; it wasn't exactly close.

If she left now, she would arrive just in time.

Just as Jade was thinking this, she heard footsteps outside.

She looked up to see Hudson entering. She walked straight to him, grabbed his sleeve, and started pulling him toward the door.

Hudson stared blankly at Jade's hand on his sleeve, his heart suddenly melting with a strange tenderness.

"Why do you always have to go after Amara? Can't you just get along?"

Jade laughed coldly and said directly, "My mother's ashes were destroyed because of her scheming. You tell me, who's the one going after whom?"

"That's impossible!" Hudson rejected her statement instinctively.

"Amara might have her little schemes, but she would never do something so malicious!"

Hah.

Jade's heart was filled with mockery. She knew he would say that and didn't feel like wasting any more breath.

"Whether she's capable of it or not, you'll know once you come up and listen for yourself."

Hudson followed her, but he didn't stop talking.

"Jade, I've known Amara for over a decade. Nobody knows her better than I do. If I say she wouldn't do it, she wouldn't do it. I think we should just leave before you end up embarrassing yourself."

Every word he spoke was filled with absolute trust in Amara.

Even after everything that had happened, even with so much evidence presented to him before, his trust in Amara remained unshaken.

Thinking about what Silas had told her and the DNA report Julian had given her, Jade's look toward Hudson became a bit pitying.

"Hudson, you've always considered yourself smart, but from where I'm standing, you don't seem that clever at all."

Hudson was completely lost. "What's that supposed to mean?"
