From His Ex-Wife to the World's Most Sought-After Restorer (Jade and Hudson) novel Chapter 216

Jade's lips curled as she picked up her pace toward the club's entrance.

"Whatever. Since we're already here, you might as well see how this soap opera ends."

Third floor.

Walking down the long hallway, Hudson felt the burning stares of the passing servers, his face darkening with every step.

He caught up to Jade, his irritation finally boiling over.

"Jade, I don't have time for these games."

Jade shot back, her voice like ice, "You have time to play daddy at a theme park, but when I have actual business, it's a 'game'? Or are you just terrified to see the real Amara? Scared your little perfection is about to crack?"

"You're still hung up on that trip with Cortney," Hudson said, tugging at his tie.

"Fine, if it bugs you that much, I'll be more careful next time. Just stop targeting Amara."

He's a lost cause. Jade stopped talking, stepped toward the VIP room, and quietly nudged the door.

It clicked open just a crack, voices drifting through the gap.

Chloe's voice rang out, "Amara, you had me take those photos of the urn for you. Tell me this won't blow back on me. I've been jumpy all day, like something's about to hit the fan. You better handle your end, or I'm dragging you down with me!"

Amara, sensing a trap, immediately denied it, "What the hell are you talking about?"

Hudson looked at Jade, his expression saying, See? I told you.

He knew it. Amara couldn't be that twisted.

The girl inside was clearly just making things up to smear her.

Just as Hudson turned to leave, a loud bang echoed from inside.

A heavy thud followed by Chloe's furious scream.

"I'm talking crazy? Or has that pretty little head of yours gone soft? We made a deal, Amara! I've still got the chats and the bank transfers. You think you can just play dumb?"

Amara's voice was now dripping with venomous impatience.

"I thought you said you deleted those! Why the hell did you keep the receipts? To blackmail me? Don't forget, I own you. Don't even think about getting cocky."

Hudson's feet froze. His eyes widened in pure disbelief.

That tone... she's actually admitting to a deal with Chloe?

Chloe snapped back, "I kept them as insurance! You won't even give me a straight answer. If things go south, how do I know you won't screw me over?"

"Just stay in the villa and stay away from Jade, and nobody will ever know you did it!" Amara's voice was sharp with annoyance.

"And stop calling me every five minutes. You're going to get us caught."
