I frowned at my phone because Aunt Laura never called this late. I hope everything was okay.
I picked up the call and placed it to my ear.
“Eloise, grandfather fainted.” Aunt Laura breathed into the phone.
“What? How? What happened?” I asked.
“I don’t know, Summer found him in his study unconscious,” she said, and I sighed.
Anywhere Summer was, there was definitely going to be something fishy in the matter. “Update me on whatever happens, please,” I told her.
“I can’t, you have to come over here and check him yourself. The doctor has run several tests, but he hasn’t found anything; that’s why I excused myself to come and call you in case there is anything you find,” she explained.
“Aunty, you know I’m not welcome in that house I don’t want to go there and be insulted; it’s not like Grandfather likes me. So let me just stay here, and you’ll update me.” I told her.
“I know, baby, I know. But j need you here. Grandfather can’t die yet because there are some things that we still need to go over, and I have a feeling that this is not ordinary. Something must have happened to him, so please, come and check him,” she sounded desperate.
Oh fuck. I really didn’t want to go to that house again anytime soon. I’ve been going there too much lately, and it’s been messing with my mental health.
“Okay, aunty. But I am doing this because of you” I told her.
“I know. Thank you, I’ll be expecting you,” she said and hung up.
I left my office and walked to my room to change. After I was done, I went outside and saw my driver and bodyguards waiting for me. I got into the car, and we started moving. A lot of things crossed my mind as we drove to the Lockwood Estate.
I hated being there, and I hoped that Summer wouldn’t be involved in anything sketchy, because that would mean she was after something. Grandfather liked her, so I don’t see any reason she would try to hurt him. Theres also the fact that I can’t get the scene of her leaving that house a few days ago, I’ve wanted to gi down there to check what was there, but work has been so busy. And I had to attend to everything now that Damon wasn’t even around.
The thought of Dam-

“We’re here, my Queen,” the driver said, and I looked up, yes, the Lockwood house stood tall in front of me. My bodyguard opened the door for me, and I got out. Without wasting much time because I would like to be out of the house very soon, I started walking up to the door, and I pulled the door open the moment I got to the porch.
I knew they would be in Grandfather’s room, so went up there, and I already started hearing voices as I pushed the door open. They all looked at me, and I saw that they were shocked.
“Thanks for coming, baby.” Aunt Laura came to hug me, and I returned it. When they finished looking at me, they returned to watching the doctor work. They didn’t acknowledge me and I returned the favor.
I watched as the doctor moved things around and used needles to poke his skin, and I just sighed. He kept doing different things, but not the right thing. I looked at my grandfather’s face; he looked too pale, whitish pale, with his lips black. I tried to see his fingers and legs, but the duvet covered them.
With how his face looked, I was sure that his palms would be black and his legs too.
His breathing was too slow, too slow. He wasn’t moving at all; he was still like a dead person, and I was trying to understand the whole thing.
“Oh Goddess, please make sure that grandpa is okay.” Summer cried, and I rolled my eyes. Even the mother was crying, but the father looked stoic. I could see that he didn’t like the situation, but still, he was pretty calm and composed. My brothers were also in the room.
It’s been a while since I saw them; they were both holding Summer’s hands, and I almost felt weird because they were supposed to be doing that to me, but I came to terms with the fact that these people didn’t love me a long time ago. So whatever I was seeing now wasn’t bothering me at all.
I continued watching the doctor’s movements. I wonder where they brought him from. I wasn’t sure that he knew what he was doing.
“I don’t know what else to do. I’ve run the tests and checked his blood, but he seems totally fine to me. I don’t know what can be wrong, medically, he’s okay,” the doctor explained.
“What do you mean? Something must be wrong with him. Please check him properly. I don’t think you’re doing your job well. You don’t even know what’s wrong with him. Please check again.” Summer cried.
“Summer, stop crashing out, let him do his job,” Julian said in a soft voice.
“But he isn’t even doing anything. Did you not hear what he said? He said he doesn’t know what’s wrong with grandpa, how can a certified doctor not know what is wrong with his patient?” she cried.
