The food was good, we just finished the first course, the chef took our orders and has started preparing the second one. I was so excited. I was already feeling tipsy, I was not exactly a heavy drinker.

“So, Lyra, how did you meet your mates? I mean we already know but how did you guys navigate being mates?” Lex asked.

“Mates?” Olivia asked raising a brow and we nodded.

“Yup, she has two mates.” I backed Lex up.

Olivia’s eyes literally went saucer–shaped. “Oh my Goddess, this is giving a scene from one of my reverse harem books. You have two mates? Where are they? Now I’m curious to see them.” Olivia said.

“Chill, Liv. You’ll see them tomorrow.” Lex said.

“Anyways, please enlighten us, Lyra.” Zara pressed one and we all turned to Lyra, paying attention to her.

I saw the twinkle in her eyes as she started talking. “After the whole thing with the Lockwoods and then we found out that we were mates. It was kind of hard because on one hand, we didn’t have the opportunity to be with each other all the time. At first, the Lockwoods kept us in separate rooms; sometimes, we wouldn’t even see each other for days. It was hard but we got through it.”

“And then when the Lockwoods started trusting us, we started seeing each other almost every day, hiding the fact that we were mates from the rest of the world. On my own part, I felt l—-” she paused for a while, looking at all of us. She must have probably seen something because she smiled and continued.

“I used to feel like a whore, even now, I still do sometimes,” she said in a small voice.

“A*nnnnn. Why is that?” Zara asked.

“Because I was attracted to both of them. Both of them made me feel things that I had never felt before and anytime I felt those things, I would end up feeling guilty and then feeling like a whore. I didn’t understand why, but I did. Not that I could do anything to stop it.” she said, sighing as she took a sip from her champagne.

“I tried to resist it. Asking the Goddess why she would do this to me, I kept asking why. I was asking what other people would say or think. I was thinking people would hate me and call me a whore. “For real, as long as they treat you well,” Lex said sounding serious.

“They do, they extremely do and I’m still shocked that the Goddess bestowed people like that on me,” Lyra said.

“Thats good. I’m happy that you’re happy.” I said with a smile.

“Thank you, your majesty.”

“Now, you’re a part of us. If anything happens, even if they hurt you or maybe they’re acting stupid, you can meet any of us or all of us to deal with them. We are your big sisters now, and we are happy to have you with us.” Lex said.

Lyra smiled and I saw tears gather in her eyes.

“Come on now, don’t get mushy on us. She’s right, you can meet us about anything, any day.” I added.

“Thank you all so much. I don’t know what I did to deserve beautiful people like life. But I appreciate you and I will not disappoint you.” she said and I smiled.

Did I fail to remind you all that Lex has been bitter? She has not been able to drink alcohol because she’s pregnant. It’s quite a funny sight, she has been taking fruit juice and has been glaring at all of us.

“I’m so sad that I can’t drink right now,” she said with a heavy sigh.
