Chapter 36 My Sister?

“Im just so glad we are all safe,” Summernchiroed, her voice loud enough for the reporters to hear. “I want to thank my sister, Eloise, for her…bravery. We’ve always been so close, and seeing her survive that fall was a miracle.”
I wanted to go there, so I hit her and her dirty mouth. What did she mean, sister? I knew she was going to try to do anything to get famous, but I didn’t think she had any self–respect or decency to leave my fucking name out of her mouth after she tried to kill me. What did I expect?
Such a joke.
The reporters didn’t even blink. One of them actually stepped over Summer’s foot to get a better angle of my bandaged hand, and I felt a surge of pure and pretty joy.
I walked towards where she was because it was on the way to my destination. “Sisters?” I muttered loud enough for only her to hear as I walked towards her. “Funny, I don’t remember sisters trying to kill themselves.”
Summer’s face turned pale again; the rate at which she was going pale these days made me feel a specific type of joy. The audience might not have seen her true colors yet, but the way the reporters ignored her spoke volumes. She was yesterday’s news, and I was the fucking headline.
Oh goodness, I wanted to laugh out so loud.
I just wanted to get to my room and sleep, but then I couldn’t wait to see Damon tomorrow, when we leave this hotel and go to our separate homes. What will happen? I had a weird feeling toward Damon and couldn’t quite figure out how to handle it yet.
I wasn’t sure whether to acknowledge it or let it pass, but I hope things aren’t awkward between us tomorrow. Wait, what if he has changed his mind? What if he doesn’t want to help me again? That would be a massive disadvantage on my part.
I finally got to my room, and the moment I washed up the places I could, I fell into bed and drifted off to sleep.
