Chapter 50 The Death Of Jabari Hudson

I said, my voice steady despite the racing of my heart. I wasn’t going to let this old dog bark me into a corner.

I turned to walk away from him and this disgusting room and never looked back. But I had underestimated how desperate and how fast a cornered animal could be.

Before I could take two steps toward the door, his hand grabbed the back of my hair. I let out a cry of shock as he yanked me backward. With a grunt, Jabari slammed my head down into the hard wooden table.

Oh fuck. He was strong.

Stars exploded in my vision. A sharp, searing pain shot through my skull, and for a second, the world went gray. I winced, my hands scrambling for anything on the table as I tried to push myself up, but he was too fucking heavy.

What the hell?

“You think you’re so special now?” Jabari hissed in my ear, his voice trembling with rage. “You think just because the King made you his Queen, you actually have power? You’re a nobody, Eloise, a rogue with a pretty face, and without me, you’re going to be reduced to nothing”

E grabbed me by my shoulders and threw me to the floor. I hit the carpet hard, the air leaving my lungs in a painful wheeze. I tried to crawl away, but my head was spinning too fast.

“I’ll show you what happens to girls who forget their place,” Jabari growled.

He looked over me like a shadow, and before I could move, he swung his heavy foot, kicking me square in the stomach.

I coubled over, a choked scream dying in my throat. The pain was moving fast through my body. I coughed, tasting copper in my mouth. Oh shut, blood, I clutched my midsection as I rolled into a ball. I was strong, but Jabari was a season werewolf, and his brute strength was overwhelming.

He pulled back his foot for another kick, his face twisted in a sick, murderous grin.

“Say goodbye to your career, and your fucking life.”

The door didn’t just open.

It exploded.

The wood splintered into a thousand pieces as a dark silhouette busted into the room.

It was Damon. Oh, thank the Goddess.

I was safe.

Damon stood there, looking like the Grim Reaper as his shadow stretched through the floor. He didn’t look at Jabari; his eyes were locked on me. Looking for any sign of injury.

When he finally turned his face to the director, the atmosphere in the room seemed to drop another ten degrees.

“I heard you were planning on ruining my Queen’s career,” Damon said, his voice a low, terrifying growl.

“Care to repeat that to me?”

Jabari’s eyes widened in pure terror.

In a flash of movement, too fast for the human eye to follow, Damon was across the room. He grabbed Jabari by the throat, lifting the massive man off the floor with a single hand as if he weighed nothing.

He tried to claw at Damon’s grip, but it was like iron.

“You dared to threaten my Queen? To even touch her with your filthy hands?” Damon’s voice wasn’t his voice anymore. It was a demonic growl that shook the very walls of the hotel. “You thought you could touch what is mine?”

“You dare beat her up? Are you stupid or just downright crazy? Do you want to die? Or you have a death wish?”

I watched, trembling and clutching my stomach, as Damon began to beat the hell out of him.

It was brutal.

Every punch sounded like a crack of thunder. Damon slammed him against the walls, the ceiling, and the floor, over and over again.

“She is your Queen!” Damon roared, his teeth turning into sharp, elongated fangs. “And you treated her like trash? I’ll tear you apart for this.”

Finally, Damon held a broken Jabari up.

I was in a corner, shivering from the shock of everything that was going on, and I couldn’t even say anything.

Damon’s claws emerged–long, black, and razor–sharp.

“You remember that death wish that you had, that made you feel stupid enough to hit my Queen, you’re going to get it. Say goodbye to your own career and life, now.”

With a single and fluid motion, he swiped his hand across Jabari’s neck.

Blood sprayed across the walls, and Jabari’s body went limp. His throat was torn entirely out, and Damon tossed the corpse aside like it was a piece of garbage.

The room went silent, except for my heavy breathing.

Damon turned to me, the golden glow behind his shades was blinding, and his face was splattered with blood.
