Chapter 51 Are You Sure You Have No Mate?

I was lying on Damon’s bed, in his room, in his wing.

I don’t know. I feel totally fine now. I could easily go to my room and recuperate there, but Damon has refused to let me leave. He has been pacing nonstop since we entered this room, waiting for his doctor.

“Your Majesty, I’m fine,” I said, trying not to trigger him cause he looked like something little could set him off.

“No, I should have killed him. I should have made him pay,” he said, and I frowned.

“But you did kill him, which will cause a lot of problems for us,” I said, rolling my eyes.

“I don’t fucking care about the problems it would cause, Eloise,” he said. That was one of the few times that he called me by my given name.

“I should have brought him to my dungeon here and tortured him for months, maybe dragged it out for years and let his pathetic self die like ten years later,” he said, the color of his eyes was switching.

Yes, I think he was starting to get comfortable with me because he wasn’t wearing his sunshades.

“Wait, you have a dungeon here?” I asked.

“Yes, and that’s besides the point. That death was too easy. Fuck.” he said, and I sighed.

I didn’t know how to comfort him; I didn’t even know if he needed comfort or not. I honestly didn’t know why he was being so affected. I was the one almost beaten to death.

I was a bit confused, but I’ll be fine.

Damon, on the other hand, wasn’t fine. There was a knock on the door in his room, and I sighed. Finally, I could use another presence in this room.

“Your Majesty. The doctor is here,” a female voice said from the door, and I knew it was the maid.

“Let him up,” Damon said.

“Would you please sit down? Your pacing around is giving me a headache,” I said, exasperated at the situation.

“If you had just taken security with you as I had requested, all this wouldn’t have happened. The whole s-”

He was interrupted by the door opening, and I rolled my eyes in appreciation. The doctor had great timing, and I smiled at him the moment our eyes met.

“My Queen, Your Majesty,” he bowed in greeting, and I smiled.

That was the first time someone had called me that, and not to get high on the power, but it sounded fucking good.

“Please take a look at her, she’s been beaten badly,” Damon said, and I rolled my eyes.

The doctor brought out his equipment and set it on the table, then he started work. Thankfully, we didn’t have any issues with Damon not wanting him to see my skin like the last time.

“Okay…where exactly do you feel pain?” he asked with an annoyed frown on his face.

“She’s hurt all over,” Damon shouted at him.

“Your Majesty, please relax,” I said, looking at the doctor.

“Ive been trying to tell him that I feel totally fine, but he hasn’t been listening. I’m actually okay. I don’t feel any pain anywhere.” I told him.

“Thats what i was supposed to say because there are no bruises. And your bones look totally fine. Nothing was broken,” he said, and I frowned.

There should at least be an angry purple bruise on the side of my tummy where Jabari kicked me.

“Are you sure there are no bruises?” I asked.

“Yes, you could check the mirror yourself.”

“I would have seen that if he hadn’t kept me on this bed since,” I said, referring to you know who.

“What does this mean?”

“Let me get a couple of questions answered. So, you were beaten?”

“Yes.”

“Badly?”

“Yes. I was kicked in the tummy once, and that hurt. I was thrown on the floor, I think I heard my shoulder bone crack, and then my head was slammed against the table.” I explained.

“I knew I shouldn’t have killed that stupid motherfucker too soon,” Damon said, resuming his pacing.

“Okay, that’s strange. You’ve been healed, again. You remember the last time I came here, and I told you that there were no injuries? Well, that’s the same case here again,” he said, and I frowned.

“But how is that possible?”

“I don’t know, either. You said you haven’t been in contact with your mate?”

“I don’t have one.”

“Were you in contact with any man on your way back?”

“No, just Damon because he wouldn’t let me walk,” I said.

The doctor looked at Damon and me suspiciously, as if he was trying to piece something together in his head.

“This was the same thing that happened the last time, too. Maybe you should get it checked out? Cause like I said the last time, the

What was happening to me? I wondered, watching the doctor pack his things.

“Are you sure there’s nothing wrong with her? She looked pretty bruised up when I saw her,” he said, finally coming closer to inspect me personally. “Well, now that you mention it, her face isn’t bruised,” he said, and the doctor nodded.

“Exactly why I said this isn’t ordinary. Well, I’ll take my leave now,” he said, bowing and leaving us alone with our thoughts. “Do you think this is a big deal?” I asked Damon.
