The way he looked down at me–so soft, so affectionate–made my heart hammer against my ribs like a trapped bird. We dodged through the crowd, sprinting all the way to the exit of the stadium before we finally slowed to a stop.

I glanced back to ensure we hadn’t been followed, then let out a long breath of relief.

“That scared the hell out of me…” I pressed a hand to my chest. “They are way too intense.”
