Chapter 237 Kiss Him
Nira’s POV
As the Alpha heir of the Silvermoon Pack, I was used to being decisive and direct. I hated this newfound hesitancy in myself But when it came to Kade, I just couldn’t bring myself to make a choice.
A sudden burnt smell and a hushed voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
“Julie how can you tell if the seafood is done?” Kade asked.
“Let me see,” Julie replied over the line. “It’s cooked. Just add a pinch of salt and give it a stir.”
“How much exactly is a ‘pinch‘?” Kade muttered, scrambling through the spice rack. A few damp strands of hair clung to his forehead from the sweat. “And… which one is the salt?”
“My steak…” Abandoning his search for the salt, he grabbed his spatula, trying to rescue the blackened steak in the pan while still holding his phone in his other hand.
Watching him look so utterly helpless and disorganized, I couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.
Kade whipped around. His phone clattered onto the counter, with Julie’s voice still calling out, “Alpha?” from the speaker. He instinctively shifted his body to block the charred steak from my view, his ears turning a vivid shade of red.
“You’re awake?” he asked, trying to sound composed, but failing to hide the sheer panic in his voice.
I padded closer on my bare feet and peeked over his shoulder at the absolute disaster in the pan.
“Is this a new recipe you’re developing, Alpha?” I teased. “Charcoal–broiled steak?”
Kade cleared his throat. “It’s my first time. I just… lost track of the heat.”
Laughing softly, I shook my head and took the spatula from his hand. I expertly shut off the burner, tossed the blackened steak into the trash, and set a fresh pan on the stove with a splash of oil.
“So there actually is something you’re not good at,” I kept teasing as I started on a fresh steak. “And here I thought you were entirely omnipotent.”
Kade stood beside me, watching me with a look of pure, intense affection. “For you, I can learn.”
My hands faltered for a fraction of a second.
I quickly looked down and flipped the steak to hide my racing pulse, desperately trying to change the subject. “The salt is in the third jar on your left.”
As Kade handed it over, his fingers brushed against mine. I froze, a sudden jolt like electricity sending a shiver right through me. In my rush to turn away and grab another seasoning, I ended up losing my balance and crashing straight into his chest.
“Careful,” Kade said, his deep voice dropping an octave as his hands came up to steady my shoulders. His collar was slightly unbuttoned, offering a fleeting glimpse of his collarbone.
The kitchen was rich with the aroma of cooking food, and the sunlight threw our shadows onto the floor, weaving them together. I instinctively looked up, only to find myself drowning in the depths of his dark eyes.

Chapter 237 Kiss Him
Kade’s breath hitched, his grip fightening just a fraction on my shoulders.
I stood rooted to the spot my heart hammering so hard against my ribs I thought it right burst. I could feel the heat radiating his chest through his thin shirt, and the crisp, clean scent of his cologne filled my senses in the back of my mind, Lyra suddenly began to thrash around, relentlessly urging me to throw myself at him and kiss him.
“Nira, !…” Kade started, his voice thick.
Then, a sudden burning smell caught my attention. “The steak is burning!”
Forcing Lyra’s impulses down, I tore myself away and scrambled to kill the heat.
