The smile instantly froze on Olivia’s face.
“The dress’s lining is embroidered with Nira’s initials,” Ava continued. “If you don’t believe me, you are welcome to check it yourself.”
Vivienne flipped open the inner lining of the skirt and, sure enough, found a delicate“N.S” embroidered in a discreet corner.
Tessa smirked, thrusting her hand out toward her. “Hand it over.”
Vivienne’s face twisted with resentment, her eyes darting around as she clearly plotted some kind of petty retaliation.
I caught her look and added nonchalantly, “Just a reminder, Vivienne. Since this is an exclusive, one–of–a–kind piece, I will hold you fully accountable for any damages it suffers while in your hands.”
Realizing she was out of moves, fear finally flickered in Vivienne’s eyes. She reluctantly dumped the dress back into Tessa’s arms.
“Let’s go.” I said to Tessa, turning to leave.
“Wait a second.” Olivia’s voice cut through the air, stopping us in our tracks.
She strutted over to me, radiating smug satisfaction. “Actually, I only came here today to get ready for tomorrow’s summit.” She paused deliberately, a sly smile touching her lips. “Kade will be attending, too… Oh, by the way, Nira, did you even get an invitation?”
“How could she possibly have an invitation?” Vivienne chimed in/instantly. “For a summit of this caliber, even my father–an Alpha –had to pull strings just to secure a basic entry pass!”
Feeling like she had finally won the upper hand, Olivia sneered. “Oh, I forgot. You might know how to heal people, Nira, but you don’t even have a wolf soul. You’re just not in our circle.”
I let out a soft laugh. Under their mocking stares, I smoothly reached into my handbag and pulled out a gold–embossed invitation, the official gilded emblem of the summit host gleaming on the cover.
“Is this the one you mean, Olivia?”
I casually flipped it open, revealing the words printed clearly inside: [Guest of Honor. Special Invited Guest, Nira.] “It was delivered to my apartment just this morning.”
Vivienne’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief. “Those gold invitations are reserved strictly for top–tier VIPS! Even my father has never received one. How could someone like you have that?”
The color drained from Olivia’s face. She stared at me, her voice trembling with denial. “That’s impossible! The organizers explicitly
said…”
“That there are only five seats at the head table?” I cut her off, offering a brilliant smile. “What a coincidence. It looks like I have the
fifth one.”
With that, I looped my arm through Tessa’s–who was currently staring at me open–mouthed—and turned on my heel.

As we reached the exit, Ava came rushing after us. “Nira! Lisa wanted me to let you know that your dress from the Moonlight collection is ready for tomorrow. Cl–personally deliver it to you shortly!”
The moment the glass doors swung shut behind us, I caught a final glimpse of Olivia’s face, twisted in a mix of resentment and fury.
Tessa immediately grabbed my arm, practically vibrating with excitement. “Oh my god! Since when do you know isa? She is literally the most exclusive designer out there!”
“It’s a long story…” I deflected vaguely.
In truth, Lisa and her family had been tailoring clothes exclusively for my adoptive father’s family for years. She had also been a huge help when I founded Emberhall Atelier. I had known her since I was a little girl.
The convention center was surrounded by a sea of luxury cars on the day of the business summit.
The moment I stepped out of my car in the “Moonlight” gown, I became the instant center of attention. The silver–white dress perfectly contoured my slender waist, and the crystals adorning the skirt shimmered with every step I took, looking exactly like a cascading river of stars.
“Is that… Lisa’s latest custom design?” someone whispered, instantly recognizing the craftsmanship and staring at me with pure
envy.
Looking up, I saw Kade already waiting at the end of the red carpet. He looked striking in a flawlessly tailored blue suit. His eyes darkened the moment he caught sight of me, and he immediately started walking my way.
“You look beautiful,” he murmured in admiration, his fingers lightly brushing over the crystals on my dress. “But…”
“Hmm?” I looked up, meeting his gaze. “But what?”
“It’s freezing today,” Kade said, offering no room for argument as he slipped his suit jacket off and draped it over my shoulders.
We shared a smile. As I looked back up, my peripheral vision caught Olivia staring at me, an eyebrow at her dismissively and didn’t spare her another glance.
her face contorted with jealousy. I raised
Undeterred, she marched right over and forced herself between Kade and me. “Kade!”
“My dad was just asking about you,” she continued, shooting a provocative look in my direction. “He said that once you arrived, he wanted to introduce you to a few of his old friends.”
