Chapter 240 High–Profile Heavyweight
Nira’s POV

Damian bared his fangs, refusing to back down an inch. The tension between them instantly skyrocketed, pushing the air to a breaking point.
“Gentlemen,” I interjected, lightly patting Kade’s arm to soothe his temper.
I then turned to Damian, my tone calm but firm. “Damian, regarding any project collaborations, I’ll review the details and get back to you myself.”
“Alright, I’ll wait for your message.” Facing me, Damian instantly retracted his fangs, dropping his aggressive posture to offer a warm smile.
Watching the exchange unfold, Kade found Damian more of an eyesore by the second. If he didn’t have to consider Damian’s status and the sheer weight of the backing behind him, he would have let Odin tear him to shreds right then and there.
Standing to the side, Olivia watched two of the most powerful men in the entire Pack Alliance fight over Nira. She was losing her mind with jealousy, wishing more than anything that Nira would just vanish into thin air.
Desperate to turn the tables, she decided it was time to play her ultimate trump card.
Smoothing the collar of her haute couture suit, she turned to the three of them with a smug smile. “You know, the guest of honor leading tonight’s forum is Alpha Logan Pierce of the Northwind Pack. We actually had dinner together just last month, and we got along wonderfully. Kade, once we’re inside, I can introduce you to him.”
As the Alpha of one of the alliance’s core packs, Logan also served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer for the Pack Alliance. He held an incredibly influential position, possessing sole approval authority over a 100–billion–level industry support fund. His leadership over the pharmaceutical innovation initiative meant he effectively held the future layout of the entire alliance’s medical industry in
his hands.
Rumor had it that the first round of funding for this year alone was a staggering 20 billion, leaving every major pharmaceutical company across the pack scrambling to build a connection with him.
For Kade, securing the backing of a powerful elder figure like Logan was crucial for his official ascension to Alpha King. For Damian, Logan’s support was equally vital to fuel his long–hidden ambitions.
In truth, targeting this high–profile heavyweight was the exact reason both Kade and Damian had shown up today.
Nira’s POV
I had been quietly standing on the sidelines, watching Olivia’s little performance.
A faint smile crossed my lips, and I shook my head as she tried to strike up a conversation with Kade, her tone dripping with flattery. Kade frowned, a flash of irritation darting across his eyes. “No, thank you,” he replied, his voice ice–cold.
Damian, however, seemed intrigued. “Olivia, you really live up to your reputation as the daughter of the Wildgust Pack’s Alpha. Your connections are impressive.”

Folivi tossed her head back proudly. “Of course they are. Logan is currently selecting the lead company for the medical modernization project,” she boasted, lifting her chin. “Even though our Vance Group isn’t in the pharmaceutical industry, I’ve had the pleasure of dining with him.
She turned a pointed gaze toward me before continuing. “A top–tier project like that isn’t soffrething you can win just by being a trophy with a pretty face.”
The jab at me was glaringly obvious. Kade shot her a displeased look, then glanced over at me, his eyes filled with concern. I just crossed my arms and shook my head slightly to let him know I was fine. Her insults couldn’t hurt me, I knew exactly what I was capable of.
A sharp gleam flashed in Damian’s eyes, and he quickly jumped in. “What a coincidence. The pharmaceutical subsidiary under our Flores Group also received an invitation to bid on that project. Olivia, since you know Logan, maybe you could introduce us?”
Olivia put on a show of acting reserved. “Well… that depends on Logan’s schedule” Then, turning to Kade, she adopted a much more intimate tone. “But Kade, if you’re interested, I can ask him right now.”
Kade’s brow furrowed, and he completely ignored her.
Just then, a man with a powerful aura walked out of the VIP entrance, flanked by an entourage. As soon as Olivia spotted them, she quickly smoothed her hair, plastered on a bright smile, and hurried forward with her wine glass. “Logan! What a coincidence running into you here!”
A bodyguard instantly stepped in to block her. “Please step back. Our Alpha is currently working.”
Olivia lifted her chin dismissively. “I know your Alpha. We spoke at a banquet just last month!”
Having said her piece, she turned back toward us and offered a smug, boastful wink.
Just then, Logan looked up and waved the bodyguards off. “Let them through.”
Olivia beamed, tossing a triumphant look back at me. Watch and learn, she mouthed.
She rushed over to Logan, but before she could even open her mouth, he walked right past her. A rare, warm smile broke across bis face as he extended his hand toward me. “Nira! I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
Olivia’s hand froze halfway through her gesture, the smile completely dying on her face.
