Nira’s POV
The announcement sent a shockwave through the surrounding crowd, and the guests began whispering among themselves.
“Oh my god! Who exactly is that wolf soulless girl? Logan is treating her with so much respect!”
“Yeah, her name is Nira… why does that sound so familiar?”
Olivia stumbled back a couple of steps, nearly tripping over the hem of her own dress. She stared af os, eyes wide with disbelief, and blurted out to Logan, “You know Nira?”
Logan continued to ignore her, turning instead to issue orders to his security detail. “Arrange the VIP lane for Nira. She is a key guest at this summit.”
The bodyguard immediately gestured with deep respect. “Nira, please follow me this way.”
I glanced over at Kade, who caught my eye with a faint, knowing smile before naturally falling into step beside me.

As we passed the completely catatonic Olivia, I gave her a meaningful look. “Well, Olivia, it looks like your ‘acquaintance‘ doesn’t really remember you.”
Olivia stood rooted to the spot. Her wolf eyes narrowed into a fierce glare as she leaned in and hissed a low, venomous warning in my ear. “Nira… you’ll pay for this!”
I just smiled dismissively and kept walking.

Damian watched Nira and Kade walk away, his expression unreadable. He swirled the champagne in his glass one last time before draining it in a single gulp.
“Are you really just going to let her go, Damian?” Olivia slid up next to him, her red lips curving into a cold smirk. “As I said, we could always team up…”
Damian spun around and grabbed Olivia by the wrist, his grip so fierce she let out a sharp cry of pain.
୮
“Olivia,” he hissed, his voice a low, lethal whisper. “If you touch so much as a single hair on Nira’s head…” He pressed his thumb hard against her pulse point, causing her face to instantly drain of color.
Leaning in close, his next words cut like a knife. “I will make you vanish, and no one will ever find you.”
Olivia stumbled back until her spine hit a cold stone pillar. Her inner wolf could feel the raw, overwhelming weight of Damian’s bloodlust, leaving her too terrified to even think of resisting.
“Remember,” Damian said, pulling out a silk handkerchief to wipe his fingers before tossing the expensive fabric carelessly into a trash can. “Anyone who goes after Nira answers to me.”
He turned and walked away, leaving Olivia shivering where she stood.
Garing after him, she grit her teeth in bitter frustration. She whipped out her phone and fired off a text: [Change of plans. We strike tonight!]

Nira’s POV

Inside the venue, I was deeply engrossed in a discussion with Logar, about the Pack Alliance’s pharmaceutical development plans. Out of the corner of my eye, though, I noticed Kade looking back toward the entrance, his brow slightly furrowert
“Is everything okay?” I asked.
Kade snapped his attention back to me. “It’s nothing.”
Right then, the house lights dimmed. The host announced that the summit was about to begin and asked all the guests to take their seats.
Kade guided me toward the VIP section. As we passed Damian, the underlying tehsion between the two men was palpable, making me clear my throat in slight awkwardness. After a brief moment of eye contact, I gave Damian a polite nod, while Kade simply looked away, his expression blank.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Alpha of the Northwind Pack, Logan, to deliver our opening remarks…”
Amidst the applause, a sudden wave of malice washed over me. I looked back and caught Olivia staring at me from a distance, her eyes twisted with venom.
Kade shifted slightly, blocking her view, and spoke to me softly. “Don’t waste your time on irrelevant people. You’re interested in the pharmaceutical project, aren’t you? Focus on that.”
“Right,” I replied, turning my attention back to the stage and putting Olivia out of my mind.
On stage, Logan’s voice suddenly amplified. “And now, please welcome our special advisor for the medical standardization project, Nira!”
The spotlight instantly locked onto me.
