Something is wrong. It’s a trap!

The realization hit me, but it was already too late.

The little girl suddenly grabbed my wrist in a vice grip. The blood oozing from her føg was glowing with a strange, pale blue tint.

When I heavily forced my eyes open again, my vision was a blur. Through the haze, I could see Damian slumped in a corner by the window. His hands were tied securely to the window frame with a necktie, his forehead pressed against the cool glass as he drew ragged, heavy breaths.

The moment I spoke, a sick, sweet aroma invaded my nostrils. I clamped a hand over my nose and mouth, but it was too late–the scent seemed alive, spreading rapidly through my veins and making my entire body flush with heat.

There was no answer. The violent fluctuations in my body’s energy had forced Lyra back into dormancy.

Only then did I notice that the windows had been sealed completely shut with duct tape. I stumbled, trying to stand, but the moment I got to my feet my legs gave out beneath me–the drug was taking effect much faster than I had anticipated.

Spotting a paring knife on the table, I didn’t hesitate. I grabbed it and drove the blade straight into my thigh.

The white–hot flash of pain granted me a fleeting moment of clarity.

As the blood welled from the wound, Damian let out a painful groan, as if the blade had cut into his own heart.

“Don’t do anything foolish…” his voice trembled. “I swear… even if it kills me… I won’t hurt you…”

But I knew the drug was too powerful for him to resist through sheer willpower.

Driven to the brink by the aphrodisiac, Damian’s eyes burned crimson, his muscles strained to their absolute limit. Under the relentless influence of the toxin, he suddenly ripped through the necktie and stared at me, his bloodshot eyes entirely consumed.
