Chapter 291 The Fifty–One Percent Demand

Nira’s POV:

Damon’s expression instantly darkened, a lethal glint flashing in his wolf–like eyes. “That’s not your decision to make.”

Janice dropped her sugary pretense, venom flashing in her gaze. “Don’t make this harder than it has to be, Nira. Just because the Howells took you in doesn’t make you some kind of royalty. You’re on Soren territory now.

“And let’s not forget,” she added, her voice dripping with false sympathy, “you don’t even have your wolf spirit anymore. How exactly do you plan to stand against us?”

Looking at their twisted faces, a wave of disgust and sharp irritation washed over me. For a second, I almost let Lyra rise to the surface, ready to rip them apart.

I took a slow, steadying breath, forcing calm into my veins before sinking back into the couch. “It’s not completely off the table,” I said, my tone deliberately measured. “But I’ll need to see some good faith from

you first.”

Damon and Janice exchanged a quick glance–a flicker of hope lighting their eyes, thinking they’d worn me down.

“Of course,” Damon said smoothly, leaning forward. “If you agree, we’re still family. You’ll be treated just like Janice here. Both of you are my precious daughters.”

Janice chimed in, her voice slick with fake warmth, “That’s right, Nira. You’ve always wanted a real family, haven’t you?”

I watched them trying to sweet–talk me as if I were some naive kid. They probably still saw me as that clueless girl from eight years ago–helpless and hungry for their approval.

A cold laugh echoed inside me, but outwardly I only crossed my legs, tapping a finger slowly against the armrest. “What I want now is different.”

Damon’s eyes narrowed cautiously. “Then what is it you want?”

“Fifty–one percent voting rights in Soren Group,” I said, my voice clear and steady.

“You’re out of your mind!” Janice shot to her feet, her pretty face contorted. “That’s never happening!”

Damon’s expression shifted, calculating. He tried to sound reasonable. “Nira, be serious. That’s

“I am serious.” A faint, cold smile touched my lips. “If we’re going to be ‘partners‘, I expect a real gesture of goodwill. You’re not the Alpha of Blazeborn Pack anymore. This crumbling company is all the Soren family has left of any value.”

I let my gaze drift meaningfully toward Janice. “I’m not about to help you out of the goodness of my heart. Not without getting something back.”

Aven, who’d been lingering silently by the doorway, finally spoke up, frowning. “Fifty–one percent is unrealistic. The company’s current situation-

I gently brushed my fingers over the bracelet on my wrist. “After all, I am the Miracle Healer

now.”

Damon’s eyes gleamed with shrewd interest, but then hesitation shadowed his face.

“Dad!” Janice stomped her foot, her voice rising shrilly. “You promised me!”

Watching them squabble, I rose leisurely from the sofa. “Seems like you need more time to think it over.” I picked up my bag. “Take all the time you need. I’m going upstairs to rest.”

“Wait!” Damon called out hurriedly, stepping forward. “Let’s discuss this a little more-”

“There’s nothing to discuss,” I said coldly, pausing at the foot of the staircase. “Fifty–one percent. Not a single point less.”

I glanced toward the corner of the room, where Jenna was huddled, avoiding my eyes entirely. “When you’ve made up your minds… we can talk again.”

Without another look back, I climbed the stairs.

Behind me, Janice’s hysterical shrieks erupted, followed by the shattering of porcelain.

I didn’t slow my steps. Back in my room, I closed the door softly, a cold smile finally free to show on my lips.

My eyes swept over the space. This so–called “room they prepared for me” was clearly an afterthought–the sheets were the same old ones from years ago, a fine layer of dust coated the dresser, and the window only opened halfway, as if stuck in time.

I reached up and carefully removed my earrings. With a gentle twist, the delicate listening device hidden inside was revealed.
