Chapter 296 A Dark Revelation
Nira’s POV:
After finalizing the agreement with Damon, I received an encrypted text from Noah.
Reading it, I let out a slow breath of relief.
The message was brief–just a single line. “It’s time. Wait for the net to close.”
A faint smile touched my lips. Finally, the moment of reckoning had arrived.
Right afterward, I sent Jenna a message. “Meet me at the garden pavilion tonight at eight. Something important to discuss.”
I kept it deliberately vague, knowing she wouldn’t dare ignore it.
As night fell, I stood by the floor–to–ceiling window in my room, watching Jenna hurry nervously toward the garden.
Arms crossed, I waited calmly, ready to watch the scene unfold.

Third–Person POV:
Meanwhile, at the pavilion, Janice was clinging to Aven’s arm, her voice dripping with false sweetness. “Aven, my face is so irritated… could you take a look?”
Jenna had almost reached the pavilion when she caught the sound of her daughter’s flirty tone. She froze mid–step, confused.
Under the pale moonlight, she saw Janice pressed against Aven, her painted lips dangerously close to his jawline.
“Janice, stop…” Aven’s voice came out rough, but he didn’t push her away.
“Why? There’s no one around…” Janice’s hand slid beneath Aven’s shirt. “You like this, don’t you?”
“You know I do.” Aven lowered his head and captured her mouth in a kiss.
Jenna’s entire body shuddered violently. Stumbling forward, her voice cracked. “What… what are you two doing?!”

Spotting Jenna, Aven shoved Janice aside, his face going pale. “Mom! This isn’t what it looks like!”
“Crack!”
A sharp slap echoed through the quiet night.
Jenna had put her full strength into striking Janice across the face, her nails leaving deep red marks on the girl’s already swollen cheek. “Have you lost your mind?! You’re siblings!”
Janice clutched her face, her wolf eyes blazing crimson as she snarled back, “We’re not related by blood! What’s wrong with being together?!”
Aven quickly grabbed Janna’s arm. “Janice, don’t make this worse-”
But Janice, now fully enraged, shot back, “It’s too late for objections. Aven and I have already completed the mating bond.”
Jenna’s face drained of all color. She swayed on her feet, barely staying upright.
“You… What did you say?” she whispered, her voice trembling.
Aven rushed to steady her. “Mom, please, calm down-”
“Don’t touch me!” Jenna shoved him away hard, her eyes flooded with despair and fury. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done? You’re brother and sister!”
Janice let out a derisive snort. “Mom, are you seriously losing it right now? Nira and I were
switched at birth. She’s your real daughter.”
“What do you know? You two are-” Jenna was so agitated she nearly shouted the truth, but the words caught in her throat.
“What’s going on here?” Damon’s stern voice cut through the tension as he appeared on the path.
He strode into the pavilion, his expression darkening as he took in the scene–Janice’s disheveled collar, Aven’s open shirt. In an instant, his face turned to stone.
“Damon…” Jenna grabbed his sleeve, her eyes red–rimmed, but she couldn’t find the words. “They… they…
“Enough!” Damon snapped sharply. His wolf claws extended, and in a burst of anger. he smashed the nearby lounge chair to splinters.

After the sound of shattering wood faded, he threw a heavy, conflicted look at Janice, then turned to Aven. “Take your sister back to her room. No one speaks of this again.”
“Damon—” Jenna tried to protest.
“I said that’s the end of it!” Damon roared, then turned and stormed away.
With his final word hanging in the air, Aven nervously wrapped an arm around Janice and led her off.
Jenna collapsed onto the stone bench, her vision blurred by tears. “This is a curse… This is all payback…”

Nira’s POV:
Once Damon and the others had left, I finally made my way over to Jenna without hurry.
She looked up and saw me. A violent shudder ran through her, and she pointed a trembling finger in my direction. “You… This was you, wasn’t it? You set this up…”
I stepped closer, leaned down, and spoke softly near her ear, “When you took me away and swapped me with Janice all those years ago… did you ever imagine it would come to this?”
Jenna’s body shook uncontrollably. Tears streamed down her face like shattered glass.
